It's a poll like this that makes me feel old . . . somebody actually believes the modern era of football began in 2001. I guess if you're under the age of 20, guys like Carl Pickens, Alvin Harper, Peerless Price and Joey Kent are oldtimers.

I feel your pain GA, to me Willie Gault is the best UT receiver I've ever seen. Fastest thing to ever wear a "T". But these days he barely gets mentioned along with the greats....

if you listed every great receiver that has graced the playing feild for UT it would take all day to read the list before you could vote, and Modern is vague at best, does that mean during Fulmer's tenure or since games started being televised or since the invention of electricity?

My favorite Vol receiver of lately was Bobby Graham. He didn't have blazing speed, but he didn't make many mistakes and he had hands like glue. Anyone remember that catch against Memphis he made in 99 to bail UT out of that game?

Not on the list, I like Anthony Morgan. It really hurt his stats playing with Pickens and Harper.

Willie Gault isn't there, either.

Exactly right. Copeland was a QB and turned himself into a good 2nd receiver.

Amen, JK and Peyton were as good a combo as I have seen. That slant route gained more yards than any other play.
