Favorite Bob Kesling Quotes?

This is going to be a very unpopular take, but I kind of like that call. We hear the announcer speechless and at a loss for words upon witnessing a stunning finish. Accompanied by Tim Priest's exuberant shouting, I think it kind of works. I do understand, though, why most don't like it.
Being speechless is one thing. Saying "what a turn of events" is just dumb.
This isn't Stoerner fumbling the ball giving Tenn a truly unexpected chance to go win it. This was literally the last play of the game from only the 43 on a play that isn't that rare to convert. Heck yeah it was a turning of events it was game over lol.

He is terrible .. here is one of favorites . .. ok its 1st and 10 vols at the 25 .. Small carries and he gets 2 or 3 yards .. its 2nd and 4 ... what?? 2 or 3 yards and its 2nd and 4. . Really .. equally bad in basketball .. wasn't able to catch the start of a game last year .. got in my truck .. he called the play by play for 15 mins and never gave score . He is awful ..

This reminds of a call just before the half against UF. It went something like this.

"Give is to Small and he's tackled at the 45."

It was a crucial 20 yard run and that was the blase description. Well, based on the last given yard line it was a 20 yarder. Who knows if that was correct?

Bob is a true VFL? Really? I thought that term was reserved for people who actually suited up, and played some sort of sport. Not for someone who got paid to put fans to sleep.
Define it the term how you want...but he lives and breathes UT sports. If he isnt a Vol for Life...

I travel for work. A LOT. Therefore I’m forced to listen to football games on the TN app.

Bob is atrocious. Esp this year with our “super Heuped” O. He was always behind each play but this year he was even worse if that was possible.

Obvi when I’m driving I’m trying to picture the game in my mind. It’s Bob’s JOB to help me do that, to put me right there at the game. Not just to have a nice voice and describe what happened AFTER each play is over.

Where’s the situational awareness? Are we driving East - West or West - East? What’s the down and distance? The score again? I mean c’mon dude set the scene and vary your tone of voice and delivery accordingly within the context of the game and the urgency of the possession.

I tuned in late for the MO game to hear Bob and his duller half having a nonchalant convo with no excitement or enthusiasm so I’ve got no idea what’s going on then as we line up to kickoff about 3-4 minutes later I hear we’ve already scored 2 or 3 TD’s by that point! It was like they were discussing the lunch menu at Waffle House.

The gaps and delays in describing what just happened on each down can be so bad I have to listen to the crowd’s reaction to know if the play succeeded or not. And Bob’s mistakes are too numerous to mention.

I could go on and on. TN needs to level up our game announcer the same way we leveled up our HC.
