Just wanted to know what non-vol fans think about this and if you agree or disagree?

See my posts elsewhere. In a nutshell:

1) This was inevitable.

2) It will take UT 3-4 years to be competitive with the top of the SEC again, but I think UT fans by and large accept that.

3) It will happen. UT will be a power once again. But as I say it will take a few years.

4) The UT head coaching job is not a premier job. But its a very, very good job. I think there will be a lot of interest, especially since as I say I think the fans will give the new hire a break for at least three years to rebuild things.

5) Fulmer is subtly blaming the players for this season and, to some extent, his demise.

Overall, happy for you guys. UT will be back and this had to happen, first.

2, 4, and 5 are garbage. Typical, but garbage.

This thread will end up going down in flames. I like the idea but this will get way out of hand. One bammer hits hits here and it will be lights out.

I think it was probably time for a change. I'm a Clemson fan so I know what you guys are going through. My granddad is a UT grad and even he thought Fulmer had to go. Anyways it'll be interesting to see who you guys get as next HC.

You are on my last nerve!

How long did it take Saban?

Dumbest thing you've ever written.

No, he's not.

I agree with this. I think with Fulmer leaving that the animosity will go away between our two teams and become a rivalry again.

I don't think anyone can call this a "rebuilding" job per say. All the resources are right there and if right coach is hired Tennessee will be competitive in the SEC east next year.

And tell me this lawgator, is Florida a premier job?

How in the hell is Arizona as good as Florida, LSU, and Tennessee?

Sorry. I debated that one. Was trying to think of another good western team, someone PAC10ish, to round it out. You're right and they don't belong.

But do you not agree with my premier list? And that neither Florida or UT is on it?

Florida is absolutely a premier job.

This Bammer has mixed emotions. On the one hand, I feel that he deserves whatever he gets because of the whole snitching thing.

However, I don't want to see UT get a capable football coach! Since Saban arrived, I have counted "the 3rd Sat." as a "W". I wouldn't be so sure of that if UT had a solid coach.

I really dislike Phatimus as a person, but was hoping that he could stick around and drive UT further into mediocrity.

That is probably how most of my fellow BAMMERS feel, too!

What makes a job a premier job? Level of pay? Level of success before you got there or while you were there? Facilities? Booosters? Size of stadium?

Its all subjective.

I think Florida is on the verge, but they haven't had the sustained success I think of when I think premier. Same with UT, especially lately.

I don't give two hoots in hell what other fans think about CPF and Vol football. I just want a return to the days when they not only respected us but had some real fear of the VOLS when they came to play.

I work with a bama fan, life long and a decent fella to boot. I told him the news of CPF leaving and he could not believe it. I then told him the hot rumor was saban coming to Knoxville for 8 million. His eyes got big and he said "He wouldn't do that would he." My reply was we already know what saban is, all we have to do is negotiate the price...remember the old joke about the old guy who asks this young hottie hollywood star if she would sleep with him for a million dollars. She contemplates this and then says yes. He immediately drops the price to $20 and she is offended, stating, "What do you think I am a cheap whore," to which he replies, "Honey we already have established what you are, I am just negotiating the price of your services."

I did eventually tell him I was just BSing on saban, but it had him thinking.

Most bammers would realize that half the SEC was involved in your "snitching incident" Fulmer was just the one that went "on record" with it. All teams are guilty of bending the rules. Bama just bent the rules too long and without regard, so they got caught.

why are you asking this question after you already listed your premier gigs?
