Fan Morale and the coaching search

Sounds like MH is going to put the full court press on B Davis, a la Saban search at Bama. After that, I'm not sure who would be a sure fire "catch".

Hamilton said last Wednesday I believe, that we would know in the next five weeks. I would say we know who will be our coach the first week in December.

Unless its someone who's going to a bowl! If he announces in 5 weeks we're getting one off the following:
1) A Div.I loser
2) A Div I-AA Coach
3) A Div. I Assistant
4) An NFL Coach/Assistant

With us now not going to a bowl, I would say there is a little more pressure to wrap up the search and make an announcement, but really at this point it can't get too much worse. I would love to beat Vandy, and I am fairly confident that we will beat UK.

Are you posting from the State Hospital?:lolabove:

Does losing or the idea of losing to KY and Vandy actually put pressure on the powers that be to accelerate the hire, and increase the information coming out of Knoxville?

I personally don't know, but I wondered what you guys thought.

the right hire, will fix the morale issue

It has been minimal, but keep in mind that there is going to be a VERY powerful locker room speech by Phillip before the game. Again, I am hoping that they will come out with a desire to win the last game.

As opposed to the speeches he usually gives?:)

They are, but I HOPE that we are playing with a lot of emotion. This UT offense is terrible but it is Phil's last game, senior day, longest winning streak, etc. Also, UK will predictably try their hardest to screw it up.
I have seen NOTHING that tells me we will be able to beat Vandy or Kentucky. Unfortunately, the "win one for the Gipper" argument doesn't seem to be working out too well.

UT's fanbase has never been more apathetic than it has now. I got the text saying we had lost to Wyoming and all I could do was chuckle.

What if I said UF was sending its third team offense to get some playing time by doning the orange and white? Would you believe we could beat Vandy then?

No need to answer... it's just rhetoric.

One of us will be right in three weeks.

Something might get purposely leaked? I don't know only if its someone currently unemployed(kiffin).

I don't think so. I am at the point that I don't care about the final two games, and I suspect that a large segment of the fan base is in the same boat. I'll be at the Vandy game, and I believe for the first time I can remember there will be more black in the stands than orange.

I think Vandy sees us as their best shot to get that 6th win and make it to a bowl game. Unfortunately they may be right. That would be the final blow to an already miserable season.

No, the final blow will be having the 20-something year winning streak over Kentucky broken on Fulmer's last day as head coach.

I have a sense of dread that the new coach will take over a 3-9 team, and that there won't be any "streaks" for him to concern himself with, other than a five game losing streak to end 2008, and the losing streak to Florida.

Go Vols.

Got the text?

Are you serious? Why weren't you listening to the game?

I apologize if you were at a funeral or something.
