Blaine Brown- maybe been as impressive as anyone to date. 2 RBI hits in Chattanooga on Saturday and a two-run homer in Monday’s scrimmage. Hit another homer on Thursday. Obvious growth on the mound now that he is working with Frank Anderson.

Tony Vitello said in interview with The Sports Animal last week that (Henry) Ford is in line to be that next great Tennessee hitter in the heart of the order. Has hit several home runs the first two weeks with a double and a single in scrimmages early this week. Could end up as centerfielder this spring.

Tyler Myatt has looked pretty sharp in the field at third base this fall, where he has received the bulk of his defensive work.
Freshmen that have really stood out are Taylor Tracey – as well as catcher Trent Grindlinger.
Tracey has homered several times this fall already with a compact swing. Hankins has flashed with the bat as well and looked good on the mound. Grindlinger has been steady behind the plate with a couple of throw outs and had a good day at the plate in Chattanooga last weekend with a couple of runs driven in.

Transfer Garrett Wright’s bat came alive in Chattanooga and on Monday with several hits. Others who homered on Monday and Tuesday of this week include: Levi Clark, Jaxon Walker, Stone Lawless, Blaine Brown and Cash Williams.

Freshmen pitchers DJ McDowell, Chandler Day, Jackson Estes and Cam Appenzeller have all impressed early in camp. Brandon Arvidson and transfer Evan Blanco – both lefties competing for starting roles – looked great this week.
Tegan Kuhns made his fall scrimmage debut on Tuesday after missing some days last week with illness. Didn’t allow a run in 1.2 innings pitched with a strikeout, walk and failed pickoff attempt. His finish was good with a 1-2-3 second inning as the pitch counts remain low.
