So, seeing as UT managed to show what they are TRULY made of again on Saturday..... and despite all the past weeks of malicious build-ups, fantastic, double-digit predictions of an underdog victory.... how far do we honestly think think we will go in the Sec this year?

Especially after losing the first game of the season?

Rally with back with another loss and a draw and get the fans hopes up before being knocked out with a whimper by the start of the fourth game.... as usual.

Or do we dare to dream again, that this team might ..... just might prove something?

Now I'm not one of these that says you aren't a dedicated fan unless you trek across the country to all the away games, spend your life savings on a trip to see a game in California and have your face and torso tattooed with the team colors.

Now, I rarely go to the away games because I'm not a millionaire, canned luncheon meat heir, retired military commander with nothing to do with the funds I've been hording from my deceased wife and seventeen illegitimate off-springs.

I rarely go to to the UT/Florida road game anymore because i no longer live in Tampa. And I'll be damned if I'm paying out the yin-yang for gas, lodging then 300 bucks+ for a ticket and not to mention the travel time to watch the terrors in blue and orange mess it all up again.

My father used to be a season ticket holder..... he's not now....he found more important things to spend money on, like a replacement Liver.

But can you people please at least have the decency to follow the games before you start spouting your far-fetched outcomes passed along by bandwagon-jumping listeners and local sports talk radio adversaries. Because every week of every year when pre-game assessments and visions of football glory are being bandied around....here they come again.

The "i have no interest in football at all..... but i luv them vols and will follow them to the edge of the earth" or "I don't care if they are a 14 point underdawg... I THINK they will win by three touchdowns or more", procrastinators. And then the next morning after a loss .... you can see more orange flags and T-Shirts clutterng the trash cans than the aftermath of a TDOT strike.

These people can actually NOT even be referred to as fair-weather fans partially because they lack the attention span to even follow a team and partly because the game bores them to tears if they try and watch it but as soon as game time comes around .... they are entitled to an opinion?

As of late .... I have to agree with most people I've spoken to... that the commentators on "Vol Talk" have no clue about sports. Jeff Jacoby doesn't bother me but Doc and Jeff in the morning is the most uniformed sports-talk show I've ever heard..... and Heather Harrington just drives me nuts with some of her comments, idiot and premonitions especially every time she puts her fut in her mouth with her half-baked predictions and mis-informed "guarantees" .

Now, my own wife is obviously pretty low on football knowledge but at least she knows the general rules and object of the game. But it's these delusional bandwagon fans who sit staring blankly at the TV and go "oooh is that a point for us?", that really gets my goat.

You really should consider hanging up on more people, more often ... especially when the end of the week rolls around and they are offering their oh-so-acurate score predictions.

But then what do i know .... after all, i keep thinking the vols might win the SEC every season .... until the first one or two games in.

Oh by the way ... your flies undone:mf_surrender:

I don't think you'll find many fair weathered fans here. They were gone by 2002.

You are entitled your opinion, but Tennessee football should be better than what we're getting.

Just because fans are pissed doesn't mean they are fair-weathered. All of us like the Vols because they are the Vols. Just because we don't like the coach(es) doesn't mean we don't like the school and the team.

Furthermore, the fans are due more than this...
