I'm running this thread out here to hear all the vols who have actually had any contact with the vols. I'm sure I'll be lambasted at the stake but, what the heck. What I'm talking about is all of the so called posters who actually have known a football player? Just a football player. I didn't know one until I worked at Gibbs hall. I mean I played a little football and sports but, until you really see the whole concept that is put into that world you'll never really understand. I've seen it close at hand! At the same time like all of those football players, I worked hard and I like to think that when God gave me the opportunity to know people like James Berry or Reggie White, I earned that chance by working hard. As far as football is concerned Butch Jones is your guy. I'm posting for all 0f you young guys to let you know the volnation watches it's world like we always have! By the Way tell James Berry and Terry McDaniel they're still hated for trashing Gibbs Hall tables in the morning after there all nighters!

Cordarrelle Patterson lived on my floor of the Sterchi Lofts when I lived there in 2012. Not on my actual floor (he lived on some girls' couch), but on the same level of the building.

He may or may not have burned a hole in my sectional while passing me the...lettuce. We hung out several times a month and the WR's coach actually gave me tickets to the Ga State (I think) game. CP was a super nice guy. Wish I would have kept in touch. I'm sure those girls that let him live with them get some kicka$$ Christmas gifts lol.

I had an English lit class with Von Reeves in 1990. Cool guy and when we saw each other at the Vol Walk before the ND game we were so excited he about broke my hand during the high five. (actually I was the one fired-up, he probably thought we were all crazy for being so hyped up as fans...but what can I say that's the way I roll.

Yep. I thought everyone was actually going to share real stories but it seems like no one else has any lol.

Wayne Chism also lived on the 1st floor of the building and would hangout with me and my fiancé from time to time.

We also tailgated with Corey Miller at the Utah State game this season.

A good friend of mine was good friends with Mo Couch. The good friend I'm referring to posts on VolNation regularly and runs a Vols social media site as well, but I won't give any more clues on who he is haha.

That's about all I've got..

I got to know JT Mapu and his family pretty good. They were awesome. They took me and my cousin out to eat once at Shoneys in Alcoa after a game. They all ordered the breakfast buffet...and a steak dinner. JT's uncle had never had gravy. I introduced him to it the right way. Pour it on everything. They ate 1/2 of a tub of gravy before they left. Great family.

Hey my Von Reeves story is real brother.

Also my former high school girlfriend ended up marrying a former Vol first rounder. True story too and they are still together. (I shall withold his name.)
Actually she may have "known" alot of the team back then come to think of it and her roommate dated JJ Mcclesky.

Oh and my next door neighbor is a former Vol LB from the eighties. (I'll withold his name as well)

Feel free to flame away for all you non-believers.

Oh no. I didn't mean I didn't believe your story. I was saying that all of the "I am Derek Dooley" comments and such were going to sink this thread more so than give us actual stories of fan/player relationships. You're all good in my book, brotha. We were just in the right place at the right time!

Peyton Manning threw a snowball at my wife outside the Kappa Sig house in 1996. Hit her in the face. He did apologize.

That's all I got outside of autographs at the Orange and White game.

I knew Heath Shuler (via my older brother)
Oddly, it wasn't from TN. We all lived in NC at the time.
