BOTTOM LINE IS!!!! We Lost. Get over it!!! I still think we are more talented, I still think we will win the SEC. No more talk about "oh poor us, ESPN hates us, boo hoo" They were right! Just maybe, ESPN don't have a grudge against UT for whatver reasons you think, MAYBE they know what they are talking about.

I still fly my flag high!! I still brag about our players!! I still bleed orange! I still eat, sleep, breath, crap, piss, walk, talk, live Tennessee football! We did have horrible playcalling, I saw some plays that the refs should have called, but we just got outplayed, and if they played again today, 9 times outta 10 they would beat us again.

BUT, if we played USC tommorow, better believe 100% that we are gonna win. Why? CUZ IM A REAL VOLS FAN!!! I will follow my Vols in any weather, against any team, KNOWING we will win!

We lost to Cal, suck it up, and lets go bust some heads next week!!! GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!

enough with this garbage. i cannot stand when people spew crap like this. just because people criticize and dont think we are going to win every single game doesn't make them any less of a fan. it's called being realistic. take off the orange glasses.

NO BUT GETTING PISSED OFF AND TALKING SH*T ABOUT OUR COACHES AND PLAYERS WONT HELP A DAMN THING EITHER!!!

I have no doubt in my mind that we are not playing as good as we should be, but COMPLAINING NEVER HELPED ANYTHING!!! Every team loses, the best teams lose!

I HATE LOSING more than anyone you will every meet. I don't know EVERYTHING. But I do know that soaking the pillow every time we lose won't help NOTHING! Either stop being a lil girl about it or find another team!!!!!

We're all entitled to our ways of absorbing a loss. I would like to see the good out of this loss...but I can't seem to find much good.

Stop yelling. You need a tranquilizer or something.

Exactly...I get my anger out on this board so I don't have to take it out on coworkers or family later on in the week. Plus I like to hear other's opinions on our performance other than just mine. If everyone said hey everything is a-ok and we're still a great team that's not a very realistic or varying of opinions.

I'm tired of always hearing "wait til' next year". When is it going to be that season that we speak of, that next year?

Did someone redefine a decade, is it now called a year?

As much as I like Fulmer, and I'm not lying I really do, I don't think "next year" comes until he steps down.

Im a Cal fan cross posting so...
This board looks alot like the bear boards did last year so I though I throw in a view from the west coast.

Whether we saw two great offenses slugging it out last night, or two porous defenses hoping the other side would make it up to them will be decided in the games to follow.
Last year the Bears suffered from youth and righted their ship as the season went on, I expect that the Vols will do the same this year. Last year a cast on the hand of a true freshman cornerback made Ainge look fantastic, this year a broken pinkie may have been partially responsible for a fumble on a back side hit and the lack of deep passes to a young reciving corps.
I am inclined to think SEC fans don't give the Pac-Ten the credit it deserves, the fact that the SEC is a slightly tougher division does not mean everyother team in the nation ought to be a cakewalk. Your guys lost to a very good team, all is not lost, now go win all the rest of your games ( OK, I expect all but 2 really) it can only make the Bears look better.

P.S. I was impressed with the number and quality of the folks who traveled to Berkeley. enthusiastic and well mannered, gracious before and after the game, I hope that this can become a durable non-con rivalry. Go Vols

Ok ok, instead of arguing about it. Let me explain.

Growing up, I was taught to win. BUT, I was taught to know what it takes to win. If you think...you will miss the shot, or drop the ball, or lose....you will.

My dad told me that everyone's a critic, and if you let the critics get to you, you are their puppet, and they will control you to do whatever they want. But if you let it fuel your fire to win, then you are a real winner.

I saw the same game you guys saw, I saw us roll over and give up. It's in the past, my whole point of this post was to get everyones spirits back up and you choose to argue with me?

This is what we wait months for! This is what we wait all week for! Guys I'm not happy either but being mad about it won't help. Like I said before, I hope they learn, I hope they don't accept that we are just a "9-3" team. And we go out and knock some helmets off for the rest of the year.

Whether you like my post or not you got to appreciate my attitude.

Let me make it clear where I stand. I appreciate all that Phillip Fulmer has done for UT. I don't doubt for one second that he loves the University and I know he wants to win as bad as we do but the results are declining. There's a reason coaches change jobs so often and get fired so often. I think UT needs to look in a different direction. I'm not saying this because of the Cal loss rather the Cal loss was an indication of more of the same.

Nice attitude, but the whole point of this board is to discuss our teams perfomance in games.

I don't care if they beat us by 234 points. I would never punt the ball if we are down. Yeah, brilliant idea, let's "give up and go home" while the whole world watches.

Don't you know, we should have been happy losing by 14. We should have just kneeled it down to run out the clock on that possession. I mean, you wouldn't want to risk an interception being returned for a TD, would you? I'm thoroughly happy that our defense decided to play a vanilla 4 man front on their last drive, too so that they could run out the clock on the ground. Wouldn't want to force them to put it up in the air, would we?

Well alright then. Some of us just thought you had been drinking the orange kool aid and couldn't see any thing wrong with the play of the team or that improvements needed to be made.

Ok, sorry for being passionate and possitive about or Vols. Maybe I'm in denial? I been waiting a long time for yesterday and I'm disappointed. I just we would start acting like fans instead of critics.

Miracle out

We were playing a more experienced, more determined, Cal team. They had too many weapons. We had too many youngsters. Couple years down the road we will be just as dangerous.

I think we looked really good on offense. Foster was a dog, Ainge was sharp, and our "no show" WRs played really well.

We had a couple bad breaks like the "fumble" at the beginning of the game, gave up too many big plays, they just wanted it more.

The only thing I saw that I didn't like was the play calling...and the D looked scared to get their ankles broke (which I don't blame them).

Enough with the "Fire Fulmer" threads. Either get on the wagon, or get off. You bleed orange or you don't. Stop crying, change jerseys and get ready for next week!!

If I saw anything, I saw that this Vol team has A LOT of heart. This team will get over this loss, so should ya'll.

GO VOLS!!!!

This team was not young. Our defense started 7 seniors, 2 juniors, and 2 sophomores. Youth is not even close to being a valid excuse. As for youngsters, Cal's true freshman running back tore us a new one.

the music is that we are in real trouble here. Defense is hideous. Playcalling was wretched. We through to the flat so many times on 3rd and long it's like we had already given up. I'm a optimistic UT fan but I'm also a realistic UT fan and we looked terrible. It should be a long year.

It is hard to say play callling is bad. When your receivers can't get open downfield, you HAVE to throw short passes. Our starting receiving corp isn't that great. Not enough speed or dynamics in Rogers, Taylor or Briscoe. New receivers must come on for us to be able to call dowfield plays. Their CBs were all the way up on us. Our CBs playes off of their WRs because they could stretch the field.

Defense is awful. Chavis is most overrated defensive coordinator in the game. I have been saying it for years
