We were playing a more experienced, more determined, Cal team. They had too many weapons. We had too many youngsters. Couple years down the road we will be just as dangerous.

I think we looked really good on offense. Foster was a dog, Ainge was sharp, and our "no show" WRs played really well.

We had a couple bad breaks like the "fumble" at the beginning of the game, gave up too many big plays, they just wanted it more.

The only thing I saw that I didn't like was the play calling...and the D looked scared to get their ankles broke (which I don't blame them).

Enough with the "Fire Fulmer" threads. Either get on the wagon, or get off. You bleed orange or you don't. Stop crying, change jerseys and get ready for next week!!

If I saw anything, I saw that this Vol team has A LOT of heart. This team will get over this loss, so should ya'll.

GO VOLS!!!!

Well i'am on the football teams bandwagon.Never will hitch a ride on the fulmer express anymore.Found out it's mostly full of hot air.

Go watch the movie "Braveheart." The coaches in that movie didn't punt with time left on the clock.

I didn't realize we were that young. I thought we had sophmores, juniors and seniors on our team.

Yeah, lets go for it at our 25 and not get it do they can make the score look worse than it was. Great plan.

I don't care if they beat us by 234 points. I would never punt the ball if we are down. Yeah, brilliant idea, let's "give up and go home" while the whole world watches.

Your missing the point.We were down 14 points 1:20 to go.Punting there just showed that we had quit trying to win.Excuse me, but i believe thats why we play the game.Quote herman edwards (we play to win the game).In the last minute we played to save face.That in my opinion sucks!

I would only have gone for it if our defense had actually showed up to the game. You can't go for it on fourth and long deep in your own territory when you have 0 confidence in your defense.

So I guess we would need our punt to have a minute and a half hang time so they don't score again? If we have zero confidence in our D, why would it matter if we punted or not?

At the end wat matters is a W or a L.... we beat cal last year and the final score read 35 - 18 but if u watched the game yday everytime they said 35 - 0 at the end of 3rd quarter... they know that 18 was when we had the second team D....

same way it doest matter u lose by 14 or 21... i would rather take a 21pt loss than givin up.... quitters are the real losers coz u accept defeat...

I think the music is this. Its going to be 10 years since UT has won the SEC next season.

What came out of the Cal game, that would lead someone to believe that UT has the whole SEC "locked"? Still cant stop the run......

Guys this is the worst Tennessee defense I have seen since Chavis took over. They can't stop the run against a team that is known more for it's QB and Receivers. I was VERY disappointed in the defense, but the offense was a bright spot. However, they MUST be able to stretch the field vertically with the passing game or it will be same song, second verse from 2005.

BOTTOM LINE IS!!!! We Lost. Get over it!!! I still think we are more talented, I still think we will win the SEC. No more talk about "oh poor us, ESPN hates us, boo hoo" They were right! Just maybe, ESPN don't have a grudge against UT for whatver reasons you think, MAYBE they know what they are talking about.

I still fly my flag high!! I still brag about our players!! I still bleed orange! I still eat, sleep, breath, crap, piss, walk, talk, live Tennessee football! We did have horrible playcalling, I saw some plays that the refs should have called, but we just got outplayed, and if they played again today, 9 times outta 10 they would beat us again.

BUT, if we played USC tommorow, better believe 100% that we are gonna win. Why? CUZ IM A REAL VOLS FAN!!! I will follow my Vols in any weather, against any team, KNOWING we will win!

We lost to Cal, suck it up, and lets go bust some heads next week!!! GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!

the music is that we are in real trouble here. Defense is hideous. Playcalling was wretched. We through to the flat so many times on 3rd and long it's like we had already given up. I'm a optimistic UT fan but I'm also a realistic UT fan and we looked terrible. It should be a long year.

I don't come on the board to read negative sh*t about my team, from the fans that "love" my team as much as I do. So ya'll cry like a 1st grade girl all ya'll want, your constant complaining and whining won't change anything and is useless.

You seem to know a lot. Why don't you tell us what will change anything. If there isn't any negative sh*t then everything must be going great. Is that how you see it?

we were down 14. in that scenario, i would always go for it. sure, it was longshot to win but you never know. crazier things have happened in college football.

but throwing in the towel like that really disturbed me. it was like fulmer was saying "ok, we give up, but you're not gonna get 50 on the board." that is NOT tennessee football.

Why should we be happy when the status quo is middle of the SEC? Do you have to get kicked in the nuts repeatedly for a decade, and then happily ask for more to be a "Real" fan?

I'm as real as there is, and there is flat out, no denying that Tennessee is underperforming. And I'm not going to happily whistle dixie while I watch our proud program crumble.
