He has been named to several All American teams.
If he misses most or all of the season, that means that nobody picking him knew about the severity of his injury and the amount of time needed to recover.
Seems odd.

Everybody knew he was coming off an ACL surgery, and most professionals will tell you it takes a year for full recovery. Everyone heals at a different pace and he's about 9 months into his recovery. Heupel is not gonna risk further injury to him if he's not ready. He does have a shot at the NFL but he has to be injury free for that to happen.

True.
And because of this, he should not have been placed on any pre season AA TEAMS.

Pre-season recognition lists are necessarily based on the previous season's performance. It's not that Jermod's play this season was predictively recognized as All-American.

Jermod was recognized in the preseason as being an All-American player.

Thinking these “experts knew of JMs injury is giving them too much credit.

Well that’s your opinion. Voters for awards are allowed to take into account any criteria that they wish. Players that are going to miss a significant portion of the season routinely make preseason lists. He likely won’t be eligible for postseason awards, unless he balls out in the games that he does play, but arbitrarily saying that he should not have been placed on any preseason award list or all American teams is nonsensical.
