Ask the anti-Fulmer crowd the following random question:

What would you say about a coaches performance going 6-1 in overtime?

Then ask them the following question:

What would you say about Phil Fulmer going 6-1 in overtime?

you guys know where I'm going...BigPapaVol, vols423,GreyWolf1129, and others..give credit where credit is due at the LEAST.

He wanted to be on the NegaVol list so badly....:)

Disagree. On that day, both teams were equal since they wound up tied at the end of regulation.
negative, one played over their heads and one under. one of them eventually won, and I'd say the better team generally won.

I'd say that I think specialty stats like that give limited insight into coaching. It's most likely reflective of players and their resolve. At UT, I think it's mostly reflective of the fact that we had better teams than those we were playing and should never have been in OT in the first place.

Think of all the kids you could have cured while you were flipping those coins.

Actually, menial tasks such as flipping coins, sorting through junk e-mail, and listening to Mickey Dearstone act as diversions which help me to keep my sanity amidst the craziness.

Kids 1, Dearstone 0 (the same score he would have if playing Parker vs. the NBA or trying to hit Abbott).

If we are talking statistics - no team's quality can be judged (statistically speaking) on W/L record. There are simply not enough observations.

Thanks papa for proving my point...you answered the first question and then applied your subjectivity to the second.

your point regarding???

surely you meant objectivity rather than subjectivity.

I don't mind being lumped in the negavols for having the opinion that Fulmer has a good OT record because we had the better team in nearly every single instance. Poster asked for an opinion and I said what I believe.
