Expect 16 team playoff as soon as possible.

Might as well just expand it to 134 (or however many FBS teams there are these days)

Week one is the NC from last year vs the second place team from last year and so on and so forth. Or maybe the last place team gets a bye for a few rounds just for the hell of it. We will let the math and number of teams sort that out

If you lose, you are not eligible for the NC but play another 12 game schedule based on your finish from the previous year

No conferences. No nothing

Whoever is still left standing after 14-15 games is the NC.

Playoff infrastructure for the last 12 or 16 teams is left in place

No bowls outside the CFP system. You are eliminated, your season ends after Thanksgiving

This is obviously tongue in cheek. You guys whining about HAVING to watch a UT bowl game are kinda sad

Just stop the G5 madness, they can do their own thing.
Make the Natty SEC,B1G,G12,ACC
Each conference plays 8 conference game, 3 OOC games(for the SEC 1 B1G,1 B12,1 ACC) and 1 G5/Cupcake that has to be Game 1
Top 3 from each conference if you want 12, top 4 if you want 16.

Take the CFP committee out of the loop as far as picking and their eye test.
There can never be a true strength of schedule anyway without cross conference play and rankings are subject to the whims of people picking.

ETA: ND will have to join a conference or the can play with the G5

I hope no problem with a G5 if they’re worthy . That said, this season is a joke with JMU and Tulane playing a team they’ve already lost to by 5 touchdowns.

They will once NBC makes it a condition for renewing their broadcast contract. Everyone has a price

Uh, I don't understand your logic on this one.

Fox has the primary rights to the B10 with CBS and NBC getting the leftovers.

ND joins the B10 then NBC will most likely lose ALL ND games and be stuck with UCLA vs Rutgers

Basically, it's in the best interest of NBC for ND to remain independent. The network BARELY participates in CFB anyway. ND is basically all they got

Quite frankly NBC deciding that CFB is not worth their trouble would be NDs worst nightmare. At that point it's either join a conference or you don't get on TV

I predicted this from the get-go.

The basketball tournament is 68 freaking teams, and teams #69 and #70 will constantly whine as if it's absolutely vital that an 18-14 team be in the hunt for the national championship.

If anything they should scale it back to 6 teams.

Scale basketball tournament back to 32 teams in best of 3 format.

Here’s what gets me; there is always someone going to complain they were left out regardless if it’s a four, six, eight or even 16 playoff field. The odds of even the 12 place team winning the championship is remote. Let ND cry and move on.

Nothing will drive it faster than :

1) ND getting left out
2) Big 10 only getting 3 teams
The problem is trying to be fair with the Power 4 and the Big 5 conferences combined as D1. It would be easier to split into 2 divisions Big 5 and Power 4. Realign the power 4 into 8 conferences by geographic location. That would be 8 or 9 teams in each conference. Play all teams in the conference, winner goes to the 8 team playoff. No committee needed.

Probably, but that is not all that needs to be changed. Thr only fair way to select the teams is to pick the 16 top rated schools. If you are not rated in the tp 16, you don’t deserve to,play for the championship. Also, Notra Dame needs to pla football in a conference if they want to join the playoffs. Time to make them earn the right to play

Why, ND already got what they wanted...ONLY Independent that if they are ranked in Top 12 at end of year, gets an automatic spot in the CFP.

That's BS...they just need to man up and join a conference alreaady.
Yeah, it is crap. The only way to make it a remotely level playing field is to completely do away with the automatic qualifier. If you are ranked in the final top 12(or 16 or whatever it ends up, you're in). If you need an automatic qualifier for your conference champion to be included, then your conference isn't worthy of inclusion.

If the sport is going to split into more divisions, it won’t be along the P4 and G5 line. The big name teams will see no reason to include a Boston College or Purdue or MS State or Stanford, or any other small name teams that don’t bring in many viewers.
