What odd or exotic food have you tried? I have had frog legs and thats about it. I love eating steamed oysters but that is not so exotic I guess.I have also had Gator tail and venusin(sp)

Love frog legs, oysters anyway, and gator is ok. Have about 10-15 lbs of venison in freezer. The best venison I had was a whole roast deer just like you do a hog. Same time had a roasted goat which was even better. I've had rabbit, squirrel, grouse, quail, dove, elk, moose, Beefalo, and great groundhog stew. Probably the most exotic has been Escargot', really had to put out of my mind what I was sinking my teeth into. Ok, but so heavy in garlic and spices, not too much snail came through. Probably a good thing!

I had a Buffalo burger.

Had some great deer brats.

Love oysters.

Had frog legs once.

Had gator once.

That's about all I can remember.

Squirrels (good), rabbits (good), frog legs (good), geese (have to know how to cook it), deer (the 2nd best IMO), ducks (same as geese), wild hog (better than regular pork), wild turkey (it's amazing the best of the list), buffalo (I didn't kill it though), elk (I didn't kill it either) and caribou (didn't kill it either).

I've ate a lot of different kinds of fish too.

I am going to go bear hunting this fall. I'll let you know what it tastes like.

Sushi is pretty good too.

i love some eel :rock:

i'll try pretty much anything, but i must say i didn't try the fried bugs when i was in thailand.

esgargot - very tasty in France, but subpar elsewhere
Ethiopian food - very spicy, eaten with hands. excellent!
iguana soup - had it in Nicaragua. pretty good.
shark, gator, frog - but i don't really consider that exotic
pickled herring - it's a Russian thing, therefore i'm obligated to like it
lychee - good fruit, tried it for the first time in Hawaii, but it's available main-stream here in the UK
cow tongue - also Russian, surprisingly tasty
bone marrow - also Russian

Eel rolls are awesome.


I don't blame you on the fried bugs.


Would you eat scrambled eggs and squirrel brains?

I've ate doves, quail and pheasant too.

I have ate goat. It was rather odd. Very stringy I guess is the best way to describe it.

I've had turtle soup too. It reminded me of clam chowder.

I've had many different types of food. Haven't had too much middle eastern type stuff but alot of other. Country I visited where the food was the worst is England. Close second is France.

probably not. i would eat eggs and squirrel meat though. i've never been much of fan of brains, hearts, or tongue. just call me a wimp.

the food in paris is consistantly good. the food in the south of france is very hit and miss. and as for england i love some fish and chips.

I was at Chamonix, France and also a couple times at the Charles DeGaul airport. I ordered the pork chops at Chamonix. It came on a bone with a string of meat and one tater. Not tasty or filling. I was drunk though which did make the food taste better but still sub par from what I expected.

Love the fish and chips too. Other then that there is nothing. Many of my meals were liquid after that point.
