I’m at EXOS in Plano at Children’s Andrew’s Institute, and the RBs are going.

Is Dylan Sampson here? Does anyone know?

Is Dylan still a RB? I thought he retired after the regular season. Seemed done with football during the playoff game.

I don’t think effort or coaching had anything to do with our playoff game. OSU was the best team in the playoff. The best thing to happen to OSU was Michigan beating them. That also was the worst thing that could have happened to us. The seeding would have been different and we would have been possibly playing at Penn State. That game would have been a toss up and then the narrative is completely different if we win that game. You questioning Sampson’s effort is completely wrong. The guy played his heart out all season long. Lots went wrong for us during the playoff game, but effort of the team wasn’t one of them.

Yes. He signed with Wasserman to represent him, and is also training with former Purdue RB turned private coach Josh Hicks for Combine/Pro-day prep.

There are some folks I could question on effort.. he’s not one of them- he was injured the previous game and didn’t have any time to heal up.
There were three weeks between games. But in any case, the super secretive injury BS is what leads to people calling dudes out like that. I don’t recall there being much at all said about him missing the game, and then it turns out he can’t go. I think it does the player a real disservice and provides nothing from a competitive standpoint.

Three weeks is not a lot of time for a hammy injury … I agree on wishing heup was more transparent with those things but what would that have helped besides the fans? I’m sure they were hoping he could go - and he simple couldn’t.

I just think it would be better than having people call players’ character into question. I specifically think of Sampson against OSU and Cade Mays against Florida in 2023. A lot of people said some really ignorant stuff about those guys, and playing coy about their injuries sure didn’t help the team avoid making a mockery of themselves in those games.

Fair enough.. I mean I’m guessing his strategy is not wanting to give advantage to the opponent over fan talk though.. but yeah it’s frustrating

I know what he thinks the strategy is, but it’s pretty apparent that the strategy doesn’t benefit anyone. Like we actually seem to have some of our worst games when he does that. I could understand if you had a pocket passer starting at QB and the backup was a real runner. Otherwise it’s just mind games for mind games’ sake.

Coaches are limited to give information on injuries due to HIPPA rules. Unless an injured player gives the coach permission to tell what their injury is, very limited.

No they aren’t. Coaches are not medical professionals and are not subject to HIPAA. This was made up by people who spell it “HIPPA.”
