We did, in everything except the scoreboard. We were a 7-6 team this year, no sense in trying to pull the same hindsight we did while Fulmer was here really. It is what it is.

I think IF bama coaches fans players would be honest...the VOLS gave them as much trouble and more anxious moments than any other team with Auburn a very close second.

It is amazing and frustrating to me...a 45 plus year fan...that the 06 florida NC and bamas this year could have all gone to dust with 2 plays by the VOLS...the "phantom" personal foul against Leak when he threw the interception (I am not sure I will ever recover from that one) and of course the missed/blocked FGs this year.

But thinking back on the VOL NC...it appears a little good fortune is essential i.e. the Arky fumble.

Oh well ...can't wait til football season to start.

What we own and forever will is another one in the L column against the Tide, at least until they have to vacate some more wins due to NCAA sanctions which with Bammer's history is entirely possible.

It's not really anything to gloat about, but I guess it's something to say that no team came closer to beating the NC's than UT did. That said, I would HAPPILY give up that small moral victory in exchange for not having to stomach Alabama winning that game last night.

You could do that more effectively if we hadn't been utterly embarrassed by VT this year. Gloating over losing by 2 points (regardless of other stats) is about as asinine as things get.

I'm surprised you forgot about the 07 LSU national championship team. We gave away the SEC championship and handed them their national championship. We've had a knack for doing that to national champions lately, save UF 08.
