Excitement for a bowl game

No and it's posts like yours that make us all look bad. Let's get past Bama with minimal injuries first and see where we are at from there. Charlotte we should just play our second team to get them reps and a full game and let our starters have the day off to rest more after that it's all hands on deck for the rest of the season to hopefully get a bowl bid

Charlotte puts at 4 wins. The talent displayed today should be able to pull 2 more wins. Sorry bud, asking for 6 wins isnt what makes us look bad, it will be the performances that lead to 7 loses that does that. Again not saying we are world beaters, but a 6 win season and a bham bowl would be a very nice season. I see no reason why that isnt a reasonable expectation right now.

If thats how you want to view it, I see a team with the potential to won six games. Whats sad is that you dont see that as a reasonable point of view.
But I guess you must be in a weird spot right now as your debate point of the coaches doing the best they could and simply.didnt have the players is now gone. Its all good, id we dont win six but play like we did today and just fall short that will be fine too..

All great coaches win games they shouldn’t early in their career, but one upset doesn’t set a standard.

We’ll likely still be underdogs against Missouri, South Carolina, and Kentucky and any win as an underdog will be viewed as an upset by most reasonable people.

Right, but I notice you didnt list vandy so im guess is you count that as a win, abd charlotte makes 5. So if we can upset one of those 3 we make a bowl. With the performance today, I dont think thats too far fetched.
Weird this is considered a negative...

Hmmm...you said 3-9....then after today's great performance you revised (appropriately) to 6-6 and a bowl game....and yet somehow you are still "negative." smh

Yeah I think we should beat Vandy and obviously Charlotte. Just can’t bring myself to expect 6-6. There’s reasons to legitimately hope for it, but I’m not expecting it.

Yeah, I think either way is fair. To me the potential is there and we have now seen it. Now, are they good enough to do it again? Yeah its hard to built alot of hope in that.

Charlotte, Vandy, and either Missouri or USCe one, though beating both is nof unrealistic. I still expect a loss to Alabama, and I would want to see how Kentucky handles Vandy and Missouri first before guessing that game. So 6, possibly 7 regular season wins.

Personally, if they do get a bowl, I hope they get someone with a terrible record as an opponent. Outside of the big six bowl games and one or two other odd ones like the Citrus Bowl that usually try and go for teams with fairly good records, none of the bowls really matter in and of themselves, but picking up a potential win #7 or #8 would be good going into the off season.

This. Botch had so many inexplicable losses, especially late in the season, that the bowl game felt downgraded. I'd like to say that we make a bowl if we split the USCjr / Mizzou series but really, Tennessee needs to relearn how to beat KY and Vandy. CJP and Co can really cement momentum into the the most important recruiting cycle of his early tenure at Tennessee demonstrating that he has coached them how to close out the season the way we used to do when the current UTAD was on the sidelines.

Just because we handled a downward sprialing Auburn team doesn't mean the rest of the sec are given. It also doesn't mean we will be close to south Carolina or Mizzou or Kentucky. Vandy maybe just take one game at a time and focus only on that. Every team is getting better as the season goes on. Don't let this win go to your head anymore than it has.

It's your post that make it seem like you think we will definitely get 3 more wins. Only team that is a given is Charlotte and bama. Charlotte is a given win and bama is a given lose. The rest we need to play like we did against Auburn to have a shot at winning
