Vol fans,

I'll let Vol_Freak take this further if he wants but I'm excited to bring my 18 years of recruiting experience to VolNation.com.

I started in the business with a scouting service in Chicago and was one of the original recruiting/analysts for Rivals and Scout.com.

Most recently I blogged for ESPN and was recently approached by another major recruiting publication about joining their team.

I do have another full-time job but wanted to keep my head in the game. I recently moved to Franklin/Brentwood, Tennessee from Chicago last November and love it. As a matter of fact, I'm never leaving!

So what can you expect from me? I'm going interview prospects, write scouting reports and give an OPINION. Please remember, it's just an OPINION. If you don't like mine, I can respect that. I'd like to hear yours.

I'm looking forward to my first Tennessee football experience which will be for the Georgia game.

Tonight, I'm going to Oakland in Murfreesboro. Look for some pics, some interviews, maybe even some video.

Thanks and I'm looking forward to the ride!

Best,

Chris Pool

Awesome, the more UT recruiting coverage the better. I've always heard good things about the early days of Rivals evals and analysis.

Glad to have you on board! The statement above will be read but subconsciously ignored by most of VN. Recruiting analysts are not viewed as credible unless they accurately predict every 16-18 year old kids decision. That doesn't leave many "credible" ones out there, now does it?

Anyway, don't let the trolls get you down. I'm glad we've got you and can't wait to read some of your stuff

Great to have you join the VolNation family. As you know, you will not make everyone happy. There are some on this board that would actually complain if we signed 25 5*'s every year.

Welcome aboard! Look forward to your insights.

As mentioned above, keep a thick skin and you'll find VN for the most part to be enjoyable. We have our share of bafoons, but this IS the best College Football Forum on the interwebs.

Word of caution, Chris. Be prepared to get blasted by some folks on here when one of your predictions doesn't turn out as expected. Nature of the beast and all that.

I totally understand how recruiting/analysts are viewed. There are some good ones and there are some not so good ones.

There are some that I read everyday and some where I just roll my eyes and can't believe they have a job. It is all on what you want.

Do you want someone who knows a football from a tennis ball or do you want someone who is going to hide behind bushes and let you know when D'Shawn Hand is at the local Dairy Queen.

No pressure for me, that's why I decided to write here on VolNation. I'm not trying to beat anyone on a commitment. With twitter, facebook, Vine, Instagram, it's hard to do anyway.

I'm just going to interview targets, upload some pics, some video and offer opinion....and enjoy Vol Football. It's great to be living in a passionate state.

just my opinion please dont think all the talent is in the rich parts of town

I don't think of myself as living in a rich part of town and sticking my nose in the air of people who live outside of Williamson County.

I grew up one of 7 kids, in a 1200 square foot home to blue-collar parents. I never had my own bicycle and all of my athletic gear for baseball, football etc...was usually purchased from garage sales.

I consider myself blessed and I know I live where I live because of God's blessing and hard work. I promise you that I'll venture outside my little bubble to go watch some ball this year.

All I know is we'd better hear about it and get pictures every time Raijon Neal makes a late night Krystal's run.

You should check out a few of our commits at Independence. They're down in your neck of the woods.

Too bad you won't be able to travel a little bit north and watch Jalen Hurd in action.

And the commitments keep on rolling in

But for real, this is probably the greatest college football fan forum on the net. Us Tennessee fans are extremely passionate about our team so we tend to do things big. I hope you enjoy yourself here and I look forward to seeing your opinions on some of our recruits

It was either Independence, Blackman or Oakland for tonight. I picked Oakland but will definitely get to Independence. Saw them at the Vandy 7 on 7. Can't wait to see them in action this season.
