Excellent Explanation of Possible Violations

What if the bar was using the players as a draw for other customers?

Like ladies night?

I'm far from an expert, but a woman's tennis player could go to ladies night and get in free and be okay, because there is no special treatment specifically for an athlete.... The issue is whether special treatment is limited to just an athlete or not.

Thanks for sharing..... even though you just ruined my night

I would be shocked if it got to major status so I wouldn't worry about this. We are being proactive. We will likely have something to submit before the NCAA asks and we have probably already informed them we will submit findings. that would be smart to do

If they were allowing regular customers in free also, then I don't see much coming from this. Key word there being "if".

I wonder if the douchebroad wife of the owner knows the trickbag she put the football program in yet with her dumbass tv interview?

Stupid ***** should have kept her mouth shut.

"If they were allowing regular customers in free also, then I don't see much coming from this. Key word there being "if"."

If it is like many other clubs in Knoxville that allows any hot coed in then maybe not much will come of this.

You gotta think this goes on everywhere. Maybe we should call for an investigation of every school.

This basically goes on everywhere for the most part. I know they have the info on us , but how are you going to stop this everywhere? It seems petty compared to getting $ or Cars ect. I don't believe the 'AA will look at this ... for example , you told a white lie and it's equal to first degree murder.

Remember when Manning bought pizza for the team and they made him pay back the cash? Seems to be about as minor or maybe not even as bad. Guess it depends on how long it's been happening.

With that said , this day has been pure hell.

Chill guys. This is going to be identical to last year when some Bama booster took Julio Jones and Mark Inghram on a free fishing trip. Nothing.

It's outrageous for there to be such a bylaw, every place in knoxville and ever other college town probably gives athletes and students discounts, half price, and other little benefits. How can the school be held accountable for that. Thats a dumb ass rule.

Totally agree. That was my point also. It's BS

I almost feel sorry for the mentally deficient bar owner who let his wife make that comment. This will be the death knell for Bar Knoxville. Not that that is a bad thing. Now, bring back the REAL TAP ROOM.

Every single University Athletic Director and Owner of a college town bar in the entire country are probably saying to themselves ...

"WTF was she thinking? Now we're going to have to monitor this too because of this idiot"

Surely he will be bright enough to google BAR KNOXVILLE and then follow the link the section of the website that says "Specials." There he will see that on at least 2 nights a week (Thurs & Fri) where free admission is offered. I assume that it would not be too hard to find a dozen or two students around campus who have been "comped" because of who they are/know.

Didn't someone mention this morning that regulars of "the place that shall not be named" are given VIP access that allows them and those that are with them to get free admission? It sucks that they can offer that to other regulars, but not to a football player if he also happens to be a regular.

I believe someone said that the have some sort of VIP card or something of the sort that worked similarly as you explained.
