This has been all over the bball forum regarding the Jarnell Stokes commitment. What the hell is going on here? This could be the singular moment I look back to and realize I just got too old to "get it".

Fire away, Zonerds!

Memphis. Cuonzo done opened up Memphis. He could be as important to UT basketball as Tobias doing well in the pros. Maybe more if the Memphis kids start to think it's cool to ball for UT....

I'm fearless when it comes to ridicule. Nothing could be worse than the abuse I've taken on this message board and others already.

I've watched some of his vids. Kid looks really good. Big, too. I mean big. When he grows into those size 20 shoes a bit more, he could be a freakin' beast.

He just turned 18 lsat Saturday. 6'8", now. Could leave UT a few inches taller in a year and a half. I feel like we're watching something profound unfold. Cuonzo can develop players. Who knows this kid's ceiling....

I think it's a good possibility. Isn't he around 250 pounds, too?

I lost all of my athleticism for a year because I had a size 13 shoe and was only 5'0 tall. No joke.

Yep. 250-ish. This season, we shouldn't expect too much. If he amazes, so be it. If not, he'll be so hungry to improve, the SEC will be hard pressed to find a harder worker and more hungry player next year. The potential story lines here are innumerable. They all seem to point to legend....

Some things I picked up on from his HS videos.

He reminds me of Tobias with his facial expressions, or lack thereof. I don't know if it's a focused look or just stone cold look. But, it's there.

He can throw the ball down with ease, but doesn't always. He can sidestep and do a layup if necessary.

I saw numerous times where he could have gone to the rim and maybe had a charge, but passed off to someone in a better position to score.

He appears to be focused and methodical in his actions on defense and offense.

Like most, no way to tell how steep his learning curve will be in the transition from HS to college ball.

His intelligence is obvious. An honors student with a family who supports him and had the tenacity to even consider an early enrollee situation. He's a once in ten year talent for a program like Tennessee.

I hope he picks up on the college schemes quickly. I'd like to see him on the floor this week.
