I hear most of you say that you're happy with how Kiffin is acting and that it's great. Through all of the "Kiffin Bashing", have any of you wondered if maybe it's not that everyone is against you, maybe it's that everyone is on to something?

I realize my response to this will be heavy on insults and other subject dodging banter, I'll sift through them to find the good responses.

Here's the question: What if Lane Kiffin turns out to be as bad as he's being made to look by the media?

Keen insight in those questions. Why didn't anyone here think of that?

And what if he's not? that's the beauty of it, no one knows. We get to find out for ourselves!!! What a concept

So a good response is what? Dang, Birmingham! I think you're right. All this mess about hiring a dream coaching staff and getting those recruits when they only had a couple months to work with them, ain't gonna mean nothin' on Saturdays cause our coach says stuff that pisses people off.

Is that what you're lookin for?

Any coach willing to settle for less pay to get the staff he wants ... is not ego driven. Perhaps he knows he has some to learn? I never thought he was perfect. But I do think he wants to win. I do think he knows his career is on a bubble. Lose here and his chances of continuing a career in coaching is going to be dim at best. I do think he knew enough to go out and surround himself with the best he could get. I have liked what he wants to do to make UT a destination for elite HS prospects. I am willing to give him three years to show his stuff.

The question originally posed isn't to suggest that he may only fail. Most of you who are insulting the question for assuming that he may fail don't realize that the question is asked because of the overwhelming assumption on this board that he will succeed. That's the entire point, I can see that it was missed by some of you.

Maybe we should start a "would it result in a tear in the time space continuum if AL followed the rules" thread.

I'm assuming that you're talking about the violation over textbooks that happened 2 years ago?

What gets me about yall bama fans is yall were in the exact same position a couple years. Saban swore he wasn't leaving Miami and he ended up leaving. Everybody was bashing him, callin him a liar, and questioning his character. If anything, I would think that yall would be the ones that would understand. I dont know why i would think that.

In all seriousness, we love the fact that he is driving ya'll nuts. When was the last time a UT coach had five good minutes on PTI (excluding basketball). He has put a fire in this state that hasnt been here in 5-7 yrs. So, yall keep hatin, keep bashin him, and us UT fans (the only people that matter on this subject) will just sit back and enjoy the publicity and wait for the game to be played!

If he succeeds, he succeeds. If he fails, he fails. You posed the whole question like you discovered some all-time, world changing theory. Well, I guess for a Bama fan, you dropping a hypothetical like that is akin to a Master's Degree for most.

If he fails we will find another coach to try to bring us back to where UT belongs. The top. It took yall 15 yrs to find someone to get yall back to the top. It's kind of a idiotic question.

Have you ever thought that you may be buying into the media's message too much?

You get frustrated that UT fans are excited when the rest of the SEC fans aren't. You say, "How can they not see what we see?" Easy, you're hoping we fail, we're hoping we succeed. Every article you read reinforces your perception of our future. Every action we see from our coach reinforces ours.

When Saban took over I'm sure Bama was excited about their future REGARDLESS of what anyone else had to say about them. It's ridiculous for you to claim otherwise and expect a different reaction from UT fans.

I'm always quick to trust fans of rival schools when they tell me my team won't do well next year - it's not as if their opinions are biased. You're an idiot.

Your topic isn't worthy of good responses. Go sleep on the train tracks.

Considering "everyone in the media" doesn't bash Kiffin, the whole premise of your thread is null and void.

Or maybe he's talking about when you paid $150,000 to a high school coach to arrange for someone to play at Alabama? Or maybe he's talking about having another student take the ACT for that same football player?

Not sure:dunno:
