Calm down guys, this is just not our day. McLuster has had the day of his life. We just got beat as a team. Ole Miss was a top 5 preseason team, and they played like it today. So dont freak out, remember this is a rebuilding year and if this is the worst game we have all year then i am happy. GBO! Recruit boys, recruit.

Every year, every team has one game in which they play completely over their heads and every thing clicks. They have one game in which everything sucks. You sort of have to throw both of them out in order to figure out how good the team really is.

UGA was our great game. Today was our nightmare.

It's always nice to have voices of reason.

Games like these always make me think that a lot of our fans are mental invalids.

I agree. People have been saying all year that we should prepare for at least one week where we are off our game. This was the one. Hopefully we deal with the off the field stuff soon so the team can move on and get ready for next week.

The Tennessee-D played great all year and this is the game that, for whatever reason, they looked slow and couldn't tackle worth a flip. I was confident earlier this week we could have won the game, the all the stuff with the 3 morons happened on Thursday and I knew that those type of events can be, and imo were for the team, a distraction. I still love the Big Orange and we have a good team and good group of couches that care and will have this team playing in SEC championship in a few years, maybe next year. Look forward to beating Vandy and UK, going to the chick-fil-a bowl, and head into next season.

This game is a fluke for our program. We will be fine. In a wierd way, this could be good for us in the future. We will learn from this and grow as a team because of it.

We are lacking serious depth and we are playing two walk-on OLinemen. We are playing at least 7 freshmen and 3 of them currently belong to the city of Knoxville.

Oh by the way, we are well on our way to having a top 5 recruiting class.

Agree. I honestly didn't expect to make it to any bowl game this year. I can live with it. Our future is bright.

Ole Miss was way overranked at the beginning of the season. Didn't South Carolina beat them?

You can't play that game. Alabama killed Ole Miss and we should have beaten Bama.

Ole Miss just played their best game and we happened to play our worst.

I mean guys look how far we have come. We are going to go to a bowl and we have the leading passer in the SEC. IMO, year 1 of the Kiffin era has already been a success. We have seen improvement, and great improvement of that. Just wait till we get some recruits in. Remember we still have 90% CPF players out there, the talent gap is obvious. Sit back and relax guys....it will be okay.

Got to agree with Matt; we are an average team this year period. We should not expect to go play a much more talented team on the road and beat them. Yeah, I thought UT would win but with all the injuries and suspensions and everything, UT just is not in good shape as a team right now but we can still finish strong. I believe the majority of realistic Vol fans would have taken 7 wins at the beginning of the season with close losses to bama and UF. Lets finish strong and win on the recruiting trail, go vols!

Bad week for UT football. There is no doubt that the issues from earlier in the week contributed to the egg we just laid. Even so, I am not sure having 22 guys back there would have stopped McCluster today.

Remember, even Urban Almighty lost to this team last year. Ole Miss has talent (thanks to Coach O), but they underachieved all year until today.

My biggest issue with today's loss is that i didn't see the effort from any of the players. We seemed to just roll over, reminiscent of the last 4 years teams.
there is no reason a 5'7'' 170 lb back should be knocking our defenders backwards when they collide.

This is a cheap shot to those of usthat actually expect to compete. You should be on the UTC boards, this is the kind of performance they would be proud of.

Ole Miss isn't this good. Look at Auburn. They embarresed us too. Are they SEC Champ contenders?

We have a LONG way to go. I hope my 5 yeay old daughter can enjoy some Tennessee success in the next 20 years.

We have A LONG way to go.

I am not super negative but we just got embarresed. The game should have been a contest.
