No. Re: Lane Kiffin. Wasn't a great year that he had, by any means, but people could see the progress and good coaching. Fans are a lot more lenient when they see improvement.

PS Lane Kiffin is still a douche.

Your forgetting the beloved "Year 0". All future coaches at UT now get a "Year 0". Depending on roster, talent, guys leaving the the NFL, maybe "Year 0.25, 0.50, 0.75" as well.

Dooley started a trend!!

So you're advocating keeping a known loser because there's a possibility that the next guy might also be a loser? That makes a lot of sense.

I hope they do. That way, you can easily tell who to never pay attention to again.

Kinda like the idiot in the bball forum who called for Cuonzo's head after 9 games last season.

Can we at least get rid of a guy, then hire the next guy before we talk about when "He needs to go" threads will start lol.

Absolutely!!! Alot, too many, on VN are all about instant results and if results dont come they will turn on any new coach including Gruden. I will give any Vol coach my support, If Gruden does come He will have my support, right now DD does and will until he is no longer here.

With all due respect OP...I disagree too.

We know he can coach and his recruiting will give us a two deep capacity that we need to equalize our talent level with the elite teams in the SEC.

Doubt it. Most people were still on board with Dooley after year one because he was bringing in a decent recruiting class and most felt he was robbed of two wins. Even last year he was cut some slack due to the injuries... At least until UK.

People were expecting some wins over quality teams this year and he isn't delivering. Add to that recruiting is ho-hum so the prospects of it getting better doesnt look good. THAT is why the heat has turned up.

Nope, because I guarantee that you would see progress as a team from the start under Gruden.

You know if he was bringing in top ten recruiting classes, there would be more hope, but he's not. There's nothing to hang your hat on with this guy and I cannot for the life of me see how anyone can defend his program.

Gruden's record is only 2 games over 500 at TB, not like it's Bill Walsh or Bill Belichick. What is more concerning is most on here are setting themselves up for Gruden or bust. I'll take Strong all day every day. Someone call Charlie!!!

Wrong. Just think of all the kids that would want to play for Gruden. They see the guy on ESPN Monday Night football. You know the top QBs would play here. He can recruit with Saban. That's what we need.
