Even as a CPF fan. I think this thread hits the nail on the head:
http://www.volnation.com/forum/tennessee-vols-football/66147-im-not-afraid-say-even-if.html
I supported CPF over the years. Arguing at work with people saying he should be fired or it was time to go. I was right there until the bitter end. The past season, I knew there needed to be some kind of change made, as it was not much fun to watch my Vols play. Yet, I watched every game I could. Missing only the PPV games.
When CPF was fired, I hated to see him go and I felt it was a very sad day. At the same time, I knew the change needed to be made. Then the couple of weeks went by during the coaches search...I really became a volnation user during this time. The excitement built during this time. Would it be Cowher, Gruden, Kelly, Leach, or who? I didn't really consider Kiffin. The announcement was then made about CLK...that afternoon I listen to his press conference. This guy sounds awesome.
You then start seeing the assistants names tossed around. Well, I thought some of the names were far fetched...well, it happened. The coaching staff is awesome.
CLK talks about recruiting and they are going to do this and do that. Now that NSD has come and gone, I think we landed a pretty darn good class. With the addition of Janzen Jackson and still having a shot at B. Brown and maybe D. Oku. I think Oku may end up here due to circumstances (Auburn signing so many RBs)
I was pumped for signing day, I had never followed it much. CLK has brought excitement to the program I have never seen, I am 33 years old. The first game I truly remember watching was the 85 Sugar Bowl.
There is excitement here now that has never been here. As a fan I am so excited to get the season started. Whether CLK can perform on the field is yet to be seen. I hope he does.
I am whole heartedly behind CLK and this staff and team. They have my full support.
I cannot wait to see the Vol walk, hear the band play Rocky Top, and watch the team run through the T. To this day, I still get chill bumps every single time they run through the T!
Go Vols! Let's return to one the great and feared teams in college football!
