When asked about starting MLB during his media session today, CBJ said he expects Evan Berry to play and Colton Jumper will take the first snap.

I looked through all of the DKJr/Jumper threads and didn't see any mention of this. Has Berry gained some weight? He's listed at 207 on the UTSports roster.

Maybe he said Elliott or meant to?

Elliott, not Evan. Elliott is the lb, Evan the safety. Elliott is listed at 222lbs.

Well he can't be any worse than Jumper. One snap is too many snaps for him. I will never understand Butch and Shoop's infatuation with him. He practices well? Cool. He sucks in games. That's more important, or so I thought.

I love the fact that Jumper is a VFL. But, you take his father out of the equation, and Colton never steps foot on the field imo.

Do you have any actual evidence that this is true or are you just going off rumor?

There is a reason he started against OU and UF and is the #2 MLB.
Maybe his dad's donation has influenced his playing time.
Maybe he is a practice all star.
Maybe no other kid can play the position/getting the defense lined up is more important than actually performing after the snap.
Maybe Butch didn't think the MLB was important in our defense.
Maybe Butch wants this as an excuse for a sub par season if things don't go well this year.
These are all possible reasons for him playing and starting, none of them are a good sign of where this team is in year 4.

Remember we saw Peterman start against our 2 biggest rivals because he looked good in practice. Game film showed he didn't have what it took in this league but we saw him start against Bama.

Good grief people...he was talking about "Evan" playing (he's been out with a hamstring issue)..no LB play in his future! Jumper will get the first shot at LB this weekend.

This is about as ridiculous as any rumor that goes around here. And that says a lot. There is no chance his dad is dictating playing time.

He was talking about a Berry. Just Elliot.

If Kirkland is going to need time to heal up, it is time for guys like Bates, Elliot Berry,or one of the other LBs who walked in here with plenty of accolades to step up and do something.

I realize that many of them may be doing plenty in practice, but when we celebrated them signing, that was not exactly what we had in mind for them.

Elliott Berry is the backup middle linebacker to Jumper.

Elliott fixing to go beast mode. In his genes...

Tired of reading this, it's BS.. Not to mention coaching suicide.. Look a little deeper into actually how defense works and the MLB's role and less into stupid conspiracy theories..
