Estrella out for the remainder of the season

Who has been on the floor when Felix sits? Is it Igor AND Cade? Have we been kind of playing those minutes without a well defined 5?

I wonder what the plan is when we face teams with depth at the 5. We’ll need ZZ and the perimeter shooters to dictate the pace in those scenarios.

My recollection is that we mostly saw Igor and Phillips play the 5 separately in the Bahamas to spell Okpara.

I wonder when we’ll see a high level center. That is going to be the challenge. Without Estrella, TN isn’t real strong down low with Felix on the bench. If we can speed up the pace in those scenarios and make much larger opposing posts run it will help.

Def hurts...I was very excited to see the Okpara/Estrella pairing this season. This will cost us a couple games this season - hopefully not more than that as we figure out a small ball lineup.

According to BTO mid-season transfers can’t play. We’d need an international recruit or a high school player that graduates early.

JJ McClesky is on the Mount Rushmore of walk-ons. Other than Allan Houston, I can’t even remember a basketball walk-on that became a regular. Barnes has elevated the program to a different level.

Travis Henry played regularly as basketball walk on.

If Chaz can keep draining 3s and ZZ gets back to form we’ll be able to manage. But in any SEC game that Felix doesn’t play near about 35 minutes, Igor and Cade could get beat up.

I think he was eventually the starting PG. Too bad Devoe didn’t get that 3rd guy from Karns.

I feel like the only high level center on the caliber of those we played last year is Dickinson. Clingan and Edey left, so there aren’t many banger strong style centers, they’re mostly skill centers like Broome.

I know you’re concerned about this but Alabama plays Nelson at Center and can make a Final Four with that

Yep. Lefty got JJ up to College Park to play as a freshman during Len Bias’s senior year.

I wonder where Johnson is these days. He had a very productive senior year on a horrible Maryland team.
