Granny Holtz picked Cal. Mark May picked UTK. Davis broke the tie and picked Cal.

WOW. Granny Clampett didn't pick UT? I'm S-H-O-C-K-E-D. He's usually so objective!

Please. I had to watch Holtz ejaculating to Notre Dame last night. When are they going to can the bumbling old bag?

it's really rather simple. Holtz will always pick SC, ND and Arkansas when given the opportunity.

and if the New York Jets ever become part of the Big East Conference, i'm sure they'll become his pick to win that conf. each year as well.

i liked how all the guys laghed in his face when he said that ND would have a good run at the title this year. even MM ain't that stupid.

I'm still surprised that it wasn't a 3-0 sweep against us. I guess they needed a little conflict just to keep things interestring.

May based his opinion on last year's game. Holtz seemed to be saying that UTK cannot run the ball and Longshore will pick the Vols aparts (I'm giving my interpretation of his comments here). Davis seemed to rely more on the facts that it's a road game and 1st game of the year.

Here's more proof that you can't trust Lou. He then picked Va Tech over LSU in Baton Rouge.

Tennessee + high expectations = fewer wins

Tennessee + low expectations = more wins

Georgia had a backup QB with a funny last name that I can't spell and Granny kept pronouncing it Joe Shittyshitski.

Joe Tereshinski.

Rece Davis was basing his opinion on the fact that it's a long road trip out, and that eastern time zone teams usually seem to struggle on west coast road trips.

Mark May said that Tennessee will be just too big and physical to go down.

Lou Holtz then picked South Carolina and Notre Dame to team up and defeat Al Qaeda.

I saw where the Vandy baseball coach decided to stay in Nashville rather than take the Oregon job. Any sense of outrage there?

It's funny how Lou Holtz mentioned we averaged 114(?) rushing yards per game last year or something. But he failed to mention we rushed for over 200 against Cal. He also failed to mention we played way better defenses in the SEC to obtain that 114 yard average.

Might as well double the rushing yards per game if you're going to play against a soft Pac-10 team (with the exception of USC).
