ESPN.com has Tennessee ranked No. 5 — in its weekly list of the Bottom 10 college football teams in America. Florida Atlantic and Florida International have the dubious honor of sharing the No. 1 spot and the worst-in-the-country designation.

They’re followed by San Diego State, North Texas, Army and Tennessee. Rounding out the Bottom 10 are UTEP, Ohio University, Rutgers, Washington and Idaho.

For all the people who think we are mediocre I would say that we have fallen even below mediocrity

That's just stupid. We're not in the bottom 10. But also not near to be in the top 25 either. This sucks.

They always put traditional powers who are struggling in the 5th spot on this list. It does not mean they think we are the 5th worse in college football.

Well, we just have to work like heck to improve
Thee's a moron in Memphis with a radio show, Chris Vernon, that had CPF on his show today. I swear he said the Vols will "work like heck to get better" during the interview. I wish he would get more original during interviews when on a down slide.

Wow. The school should really consider removing the top half of the stadium if they plan on letting this coaching staff run the program into the ground like this.

Ok, again....there's a BIG thread on this already. Merge.

Second, alot of the bottom 10's for comedy. Michigan was put in it after it's loss to appy st (no, they still couldve beaten more than 10 of the bad 1-a schools that week), Va tech's orange uni's have gotten votes before, as has Auburn's offense, ohio state's success in big non-conference games, oregon's unis, and all sorts of crazy irrelevant stuff. The space we're in, 5, is often reserved for that week's joke (week 2 was ARK, week 3 was both Arizona, and week 5 will probably be something about USC), but the poll itself is just a joke...save for the buffalo, temple, and used to be duke who were always bad.

What True said...We are NOT that bad even if Fulmer was on crack!!

We are down and I will hold my head but will never boo..

"Secondly, the fans started abandoning Neyland Stadium by halftime."

So it's not only a team effort to be in the bottom 10, the fans helped out with their lovely (sarcasm) exodus.

this is clearly not a chicken or egg comment. The fans left for a very good reason. They knew the bottom 5 situation before ESPN did.

we havent fallen to mediocrity..We are just spoiled and used to winning

Losing to what will probably end up being a 60th ranked team in UCLA and who knows what other losses we will have attached to us and a very likely record of 6-6 maybe 7-5 is very mediocre.

Having two seasons like that in the past four years does pretty much qualify you as mediocre!
