Yeah I had a feeling the article wouldn’t be so loving but frankly speaking it’s good branding and we don’t have a signature win yet. Part of that is because the QB at Syracuse got injured. Meanwhile other teams do. It will all sort itself out. We cannot lose more than 2 with this schedule, and losing to Bama will certainly not help. That will put them and Georgia in front of us, along with A&M, Ole Miss and every other one loss team in the SEC.The article says we would currently be knocked out of the playoffs because we are in the committee's #12 spot which goes to the Group 5 Champion.
Not sure what the likeliness of us getting in at 10-2 is if that second loss is to Bama. Unless we beat OK and they only lose 2 games. Personally, I am rooting for 11-1. Should leave no doubt.Long way to go, folks. Goal is 10-2.
Most teams will lose a head scratcher down the stretch. Late-season conference games, especially those on the road, can produce some incredible surprises.
Buckle up!

Wild that a team that plays 1 group of 4 team and loses that game not only gets in the playoff but gets a bye. And in theory a team can get in and not even play a power 4 school all season. Yet we compare them to a team that plays 8 to 10 power 4 schools. That rule is so ridiculous. It's a wasted spot, IMO. There is NO group of 5 team that will EVER win a national title, period. Ridiculous.
We'd probably still be in the playoffs with that scenario. You know this is Tennessee right? We probably beat Bama and Oklahoma and will be riding high; but then lose to a hapless Gator team in the swamp.
Bonus Vol luck if they beat us with an interim coach in his first game with a backup QB who has a career game against us.
Sorry, the BVS is still flaring up occasionally![]()
