Today on Second Take one topic was is Lane Kiffin in over his head? Both talking heads agreed he is. One even made the statement "kiffin makes Al Davis look rational". It was opined that Kiffin's actions are detrimental to recruiting as the SEC coach's will tell recruits "how can you take this guy seriously?"

I apologize for not having the names, but I pay so little attention to this show normally. I was watching a cachet on the Daytona 500.

It wont matter because Proof is in the pudding! If we show up this year and we look strong and our offense is effecient with a top 5 defense again. Then every recruit in america will think Tennessee is the place to play ball. Our staff is solid, and some are proven player development coaches and I am tellin ya they are gonna make this work and it is gonna look awesome. It might not all come together next year (but I am praying) but when it does its going to be the talk around the nation and its gonna be apologies from everywhere about being wrong about talking bad about this man!
He is smart and he knows what he is doing and a HC is only as good as his staff and that is a pretty DANG good staff we have!
WHO'S READY FOR NEXT YEAR????
WERE COMING AFTER YOU URBAN :machgun::machgun: GUNS BLAZIN!

Anyone that thinks Lebron James is not a good basketball player shouldnt be allowed to speak his thoughts on anything to do with sports.

A few ill timed remarks with the cameras rolling are not a sign he is over his head. I've seen Ray Goff's sideline at UGA is total disarray, I 've seen Pat Dye mismanage the clock and on and on. If he can't manage the team, e.g. get the plays called and relayed in to the QB then maybe someone can say he is in too deep. If this wasn't sort of a dead time for sports nationwide I doubt some of his gaffs would have gone national.

So far, I think the coaches that he has hired, setting new standards for physical training, having coaches personally check on class attendance, etc. shows he has a very good plan.

Kids don't have time to watch all the ESPN talking heads. They want to know about playing time, winning and how can I make it to the league.

Don't you guys understand? If a commentator says something negative about the Vols or Kiffin, he is an uninformed douchebag, regardless of whatever credentials he might have.

But, if he says something positive or upbeat about UT football, even if he is diagnosed as being brain dead, he's a genius.

Shouldn't you be listening to ABBA and painting your toenails?

See you do get it... Why so many posts acting as if you didn't?...

odds are, Skip Bayless made that comment. Skip is a Vandy alum and hates, I repeat....HATES UT. He was derogatory towards Pearl last year, even while we were #1 in the nation. He would rather eat dirt than say anything nice about UT so Id take what he says with a grain of salt. He is the Paul Finebaum of television, whatever it takes to talk bad about UT...he will do it.

Vols5150, your snide comments about our coach who hasnt even coached a game yet are unfair and premature. The man is being paid to coach a football team, not to be the poet laureate of Tennessee. I dont care if he couldnt put together a coherent sentence together, as long as we win. At the end of the day, you have to look at the purpose the person is put here for and that is to win football games. Your old coach wasnt doing that. Sure he kissed babies and played nice with others, and thats what you and some other on here would rather do than win, but it doesnt put butts in the seat. If you possibly could, at least wait until the end of the first quarter of the first game against UCLA to judge the job Coach Kiffin is doing. While it will still be entirely premature to do it even then, at least you will have some actual evidence to base your opinion on.

Looks like I've been replaced as a now and then golf partner by 5150.

Remember when Urban cried after you guys lost a game his first year? Im talking "my dog just got ran over by a car" crying. Im sure when commentators were ripping him for that, you felt they were douschebags as well.

Welcome to the psychology of a sports fan. Duh.

Hey ho, we need to play now that its warming up. Wonder what Ekana is like.

You been taking lessons?

A group of us from work are playing Northshore on Sunday. We'll need to get out soon. Ekana still sucks from what I've heard. We'll have to play Stoneybrook or Deer run or something else close by.

I don't know. After I typed that, I wondered the same thing.

Everyone else in their age range is touring -- Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Springsteen. KC and the Sunshine Band are perpetually playing things down here. They are missing out on cashing in some big checks, it would seem

That has got to be......not well thought out.
You get articles that exemplify both the positive as well as the negative. Also lets not forget the selection process as to the "informed"or the "recovering".

Only a gator fan could be so out of touch with actualities.
