There's alot of "No respect" going around in here. What does it matter? We're going to be in the Tourney and if we win there we will get our due respect. I think too many people put importance on these polls and power rankings. Who gives a flying ****?

How many of those Top 16's were George Mason in last year? Where did they end up. Win when it matters you get respect.

southern illinois deserves the votes that they get. i am not too concerned with how everyone else rates this team, the less other teams and coaches notice us before the ncaa tourney, the better imo

Let's leave the hackneyed disrespect card for coaches to use in the locker room.

College Hoops Article

Decourcy at Sporting News has UT as a 4.

I still think that we'll end up seeded 1-2 spots above the consensus like last year. Consensus right now seems to be that UT is a 6-7 seed. I wouldn't be surprised at a 4 if we beat Georgia and win a game or two in the SEC tourney.

There is no way we are in the top 16. The fact that I am posting here goes against what everyone except JZvol is thinking. Anyone who loses to USC by 20+ should not be considered in the top 16 of any poll.

not to mention it's hard to match our strength of schedule.

With Lofton healthy, and the freshmen now playing a more mature game, I think UT can hang with anyone in the nation. They played Ohio State to the wire on their court before the freshman developed. If they can stay on this upswing, I think that the Vols have as good an argument as anyone.

I'm still believing that there are 4 or 5 teams better than Ohio State is... I honestly believe they will be shown the door before the Elite 8.

Depending on what bracket they end up in, I might just agree with you.

right now projections have us as a 6 or 7 seed because the reporters who do this don't spend as much time as the comittie members will next sunday. Tennessee is one of those teams that you have to lock more closely than simply looking at the record and key wins....so when the time comes i think we'll be higher

beat GA, win one game in the tourny = 5 seed
beat GA, win two or more games in the tourny = 4 seed
