ESPN Sportsnation Poll on ESPN.com. 64% of the nation says yes. There are 2606 votes thus far, only 126 coming from the state of Tennessee. Looks like the rest of the country is starting to see the light.

I agree with Florida and Bama being the hill this team has to climb. I am looking for 8 wins and a decent bowl game. I want to see this team compete. Over the past few years, Tennessee has looked like a deer in the headlights when playing the elite. I am sick of being defeated before we take the field.

GO VOLS!

Their next poll needs to ask if making a bowl game is any gauge for success.

Our schedule is so easy next year, we should at least make it to a bowl game. However, I predict that watching the three-headed failmonster that is our QB position will be incredibly painful once again.

I think we can make it to a bowl. But I wouldn't want to put a number on wins for the this season.

i say that we have 7 wins before a bowl game. i don't know about all this talk of 8 or 9 wins. that's a little over the top

They will definitely make a bowl game. They were just a couple of plays away from being 8-4 THIS YEAR. Honestly, the coaches lost the UCLA, Wyoming, and Auburn games. Well, Crompton/Foster kind of helped in the losing to Auburn. They were just asking us to beat them.
I say Tennessee will go at least 7-5 this year, but I won't bet on them to do any better...it will just be a bonus if they do. 9-3 by Kiffin's second year. Super Bowl in his third year.

I know Ole Miss was in the Cotton Bowl this year...but can an SEC east team be in that bowl??? I can't remember an east division team being in it? If so, I can definitely see us in that bowl next year.

SportsNation Polls - SportsNation - ESPN

Here is a link, almost 8,000 votes with 69% saying yes.....

Look at all the states that voted No.....Ones that have football teams that you've never heard of. LOL

Edit: They also have a pole about is 5.3 a reasonable amount to pay the coaching staff.....51% say yes.

Remember, they pick by where you finish in the SEC not division. We've been to the Cotton Bowl before but we'll probably do even better than that this season.A 9 win season is not out of the realm of possibilities. I don't see this new staff taking bad playing as ho-hum. Starters had best play like their lives depend on it--'cause with Ogeron they might very well do LOL.

Cotton Bowl would rather have an SEC west team for traveling reasons alone. They have made exceptions for us in the past, like against KSU and Texas A&M.
