The current predictor model has Georgia at #7 with a 30% chance of making the playoffs behind #2 Ohio State (56%) #5 Penn State (35%) and #6 Michigan (32%).
Those three are all ahead of Georgia and all play each other at least once. The Bulldogs could very well win out, so what's the logic here???

Penn State is the only one of those B1G teams that I feel will be worthy of playoffs.

OSU has played a respectable ND, other than that cupcakes for all.

The logic is: someone has finally recognized the fact that the 'dynasty' Georgia football team with their "historic" winning streak has played a total of three ranked teams during the past two regular seasons. They played a crappy LSU team for the SEC title game last year and got lucky against OSU (who should have finished the job in the playoffs). They played a TCU team whose house money finally ran out and about the only thing they truly excel at is driving cars well over the posted speed limit.

Take notice - the media rarely talks about them? Their both lucky and their fans are insufferable. Have you noted their historic 5-pick draft class from last year are all busts in the NFL? Stetson Bennett was ranked the worst rookie qb in the preseason.

I don't know if anyone in the regular season has the depth to take them down (UT certainly could if they had a better play caller and passer).

The KY game was a perfect storm for Georgia: KY at 5-0 thinking they can win a natty and GA barely getting by Auburn.

I'm really hopeful Ole Miss can beat UT to it - taking them down.

I think the two teams playing at the end are going to be Michigan and Florida State.

Michigan seems to finally have all the pieces in place this year. They remind of all those years georgia was right there at the top and tripping over themselves at the end.

Florida State seems to have a swagger about them this year that will carry them to the end.

GA has been dropping players to injury every game. Several. Depth only does so much.

Wonder who is going to be left out...

SEC Champ? not likely even with a loss as long as the other four champs are not all undefeated
b1g champ? not likely
Pac whatever champ? Washington looks like the real deal
a-sis-sy champ? Not if it is undefeated free shoes u
Big-12? Undefeated OU out?

Michigan has a worse schedule overall than Georgia does. Its funny to me Georgia gets hated on for its schedule, but Michigan doesn't.

Vandy would/should be at least 4-3 against Michigan's schedule.

I would argue Michigan's schedule is basically the same as georgia's:

They (Michigan) have outscored their opponents 276-47, with their opponents having an average FPI of 79.7.

georgia has outscored their opponents roughly the same, 281-98, with their oppnents having an average FPI of 74.7.

I agree with you, georgia gets more grief for their soft schedule vs Michigan. I am biased - I can tolerate Michigan, georgia is insufferable.

Understand but who has Michigan played?

Also, while a road game, FSU nearly lost to Clemson.

FSU big advantage is really tall WRs.

Thought I called it six weeks ago. Injuries, sigh.

Im pleased with the results. Even happier georgia is not up there. I wonder if, like last time they were left out, they will mail it in?

I think Washington has a shot to win it all.
