Seems we did not escape Dave Neal after all...

"Andre Ware will provide analysis on the new ESPN Regional Television Saturday SEC over-the-air syndication package -- also the result of ESPN’s agreement with the conference -- with commentator Dave Neal, a long-time voice of the SEC, and reporter Cara Capuano. Coverage will begin at noon with Rob Stone and Matt Stinchcomb in the studio. "

Every day is a Gator love fest on ESPN
It don't seem to be near as bad as it was but then again, I haven't been able to keep up with it as much as I'd like.. As much as I hate them though they deserve all of it

Man this new SEC ESPN deal is pretty sweet, ESPN U is going to be my new favorite channel when Comcast picks it up here!

I can't stomach Palmer and that hair. Especially when he wears that one suit. If he were worth listening to it'd be one thing.

That thing says Kirk and Lee are still doing Gameday doesn't it? Thought that was changed. And didn't Lee have a stroke?

So, uh... are we saying that the SEC games that used to be on JP/Lincoln Financial/whatever else it was called are now going to be on ESPNU?

His ties are what get me the most...they're always too short and his knots are too wide.

I wish they never messed with Ron Franklin.

I do like Mike Patrick and Todd Blackledge,Rece Davis, Sean McDonough and Brad Nessler

I dont like Bob Davie, Pam Ward, Holly rowe,

what the hel is mat millen going to inform us on? i didnt like him when he did pro games.
for his sake i hope he doesnt do any play evals while in the booth, in particular WR's.

on the same not i wish cbs would pull that yankee big ten homer off there saturday primetime games.

"ESPN Regional" is replacing JP/LF, and will likely appear on the same channels at the same times. ESPNU is picking up additional games, many of which would have been untelevised or on PPV last year (although they did show at least 3 SEC games last season). If I understand correctly, each team is limited to one PPV game per season, and all the rest will be televised at least regionally. Definitely an improvement.

The ERTV games will be different from the ESPNU games. The early games that were on JP/Lincoln/Raycom will probably be on the same tv stations they were before. They will just be labeled as ESPN Regional TV (ERTV) games instead of JP/Lincoln/Raycom. It took JP so long to finally broadcast in HD, now we will probably be going back to lo-def for these early games!

Wiley in Riviera, Texas writes: Could you address the ESPN/SEC football arrangement? It was my understanding that all games would be broadcast somewhere, correct?

Chris Low: You are correct. Every SEC game will be televised in some form or another this fall. CBS and ESPN will have most of the marquee games, but ABC, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN Regional will also carry games. ESPN Regional will take over the Raycom syndication and carry games in the 12:30 p.m. ET window. Some games will show up as FOX Regional or CSS telecasts, while others will be televised on a pay-per-view basis by the schools. Those telecasts are included in the ESPN GamePlan package that fans can purchase. So in other words, you'll have SEC football coming out of your eyeballs. Here's a link to the games on ABC/ESPN that have been announced to this point.

This was on Low's blog thought that might help here.

I know that Comcast users FINALLY get ESPN360 on Aug 1st, but are we slated to pick up ESPN U by the time the season starts? And does anyone know if it will be added to the regular cable package?

Thank you.

No, that particular game will be contracted out to a participating stations network... similar to the old one...
And thank you.

ESPN: Put Ron Franklin back on Saturday night.

I was having lunch in New York once, and Al Michaels was sitting at the table across from me. I overheard him calling Ron Franklin for professional advice. By the end of the conversation, Michaels was in tears.

I've always thought that Ron Franklin was the best ESPN commentator, but isn't there a good story for why he no longer calls big-time games?

Nice to see that Dave Neal still has a job.

He will balance out Speilman and the other Big Televeners.

HAAAAAATE Palmer. I wish Tirico or Thompson were in that slot. Hell, I'd even put up with Rece Davis' Bammer aish.

Whatever became of Charles Davis?
