winning 3 games against the likes of south carolina, wyoming, kentucky, and vandy isn't all that impossible.

Collegefootballnews.com has Tennessee playing Georgia Tech in the Music City Bowl (provided they qualify).

If we get bowl eligible with 6 total wins coming against UAB, NIU, MSU, Wyoming, and probably Kentucky and Vandy, then we basically beat Kentucky and Vandy to get to a bowl?

Wow, new lows.

I remember growing up in the early-mid 90s when we would just wear out Kentucky and Vandy by like 5-6 touchdowns almost every time we played. They were our whipping boys.

And now, if we beat them to become bowl eligible, they will be our 2 most impressive wins. Wow...

Edit: Phil is lucky that the new 12 game schedules allow for 3 cupcake games, otherwise we might have had another 5-6 season. With an extra cupcake, he can at least make it 6-6 and become bowl eligible. At least he won't have 2 losing seasons in 4 years (unless a bowl actually takes us, and then we lose, but I don't know if I would take UT if I was a bowl..)

I highly doubt we're going to win out. 6-6 maybe... and just for posterity's sake I hope we make a bowl game. We'll drop from 2 to 3 on the all-time bowl appearance list.

However, I don't like our odds of bowling this year.

And on a scarier note who ever thought we could ever lost to Vandy or Kentucky and now its a possibility it could happen in the same year!!

I don't think we'll win at SC, but we definitely can beat Kentucky and Vandy. Kentucky padded their record with cubcake non conference games and since the SEC schedule has started, they've looked rather bad other than a strong showing at Alabama.

And Vandy is pretty much dead in the water IMHO. The pressure of getting bowl eligible is taking this team just like the 2005 Dores. I thought after they failed to show up at Miss. St. that they could freefall and I think the no-show against Duke proves it. I'll be shocked if they win another game.

Wyoming....well if UT can't beat Wyoming then it's obviously rock bottom.

A bowl loss to Duke would prove/make it seem Cutcliffe carried Fulmer.

True.. I wasnt at all surprised to see Duke beat Vandy. Coach cutlicliffe knows how to beat them. Vandy is better this year though. There is a good chance they become bowl eligible. I dont think they will beat florida but after that their schedule isnt real tough.
The have KY ,Wake Forest and as much I as I hate to say it UT.. I think we should beat Vandy but they beat us in 05 and I dont think we are really any better this year.

Ga Tech isn't that good---they play in a weak conference, and lost to a mediocre UVA team and barely beat Div II Garner webb. UT could beat them.

Soft end of the schedule in Nov, does not make this a bowl worthy team....but chances are good they will go 6-6 and make a bowl. SAD! If they go 6-6, TN should step up and take a pass, much like ND did several years ago.

This team would be crazy to take a pass on a bowl game. The extra 3-4 weeks of pre-bowl practice is worth it alone.
