ESPN’s Love Fest with Kentucky

They’re still leaving in good academic standing. A lot still go back and get their degrees. John Wall goes back each summer. Brow finished his SECOND semester with a 3.7 according to Cal.

This all sounds like sour grapes.

Again, not the point. It's not apples and oranges to compare normal college athletes who, during the season, must maintain an academic regiment while also maintaining a basketball /training/practice/game regiment. They simply don't have that academic pressure during the season, same as professionals. What the other normal athletes achieve and the fact they come back to graduate doesn't matter to this specific point.

and again, that doesn't even matter. Not one iota. It's the system. It's not Kentucky's fault, nor Cal's. And there's no reason to gripe or whine about it.

Your beef is with the NBA, not the NCAA, Calipari, or anyone else involved in college basketball.

The reason one-and-done is a thing is because of an NBA rule.

Are there any intra-semester requirements that must be met in order to stay eligible? Or is a student only "evaluated" for eligibility at the end of a semester?

For example, take a one-and-done basketball player. He has to make the minimum GPA for the fall semester so he can continue to play the rest of the season. However, if he's leaving for the NBA after the season, is there anything that says he has to at least attend class, take tests, turn stuff in, etc. during that spring semester?

Or can he just cut class entirely for that entire spring semester, since he doesn't need to be eligible at the end of that semester anyway?
pretty sure they just have to be enrolled for a certain number of hours.

Its like when any kid is leaving early for the NFL. Cordarelle Patterson being the easiest one to point to in recent history. he would have been academically ineligible the next school year because he didn't even try. but because he was leaving it didn't matter.

Every student athlete is different in every sport, every situation. It’s just a dumb argument from the outset. No school would turn down these players, no rules are being broken, and the athletes are doing what they’re supposed to do. Tennessee is the best program in the country and y’all wanna bi*** and moan about Kentucky’s method for also being successful.
pretty much nothing you said is a point of mine.

I am not a fan of the system. doesn't matter who does it. Kentucky/UT/St. Marys.

But it literally does not matter. And as already stated, it’s not an ncaa thing anyway. You can’t accept that
