Erik Ainge is a smart, smart guy. He really truly understands the game in depth from an XOs standpoint. He really understands how to break down defense and has full knowledge of defensive aspects to a finepoint.

Having played QB at UT with great success....I think he would be perfect to bring in as a QB coach.

He's very articulate yet breaks things down very well in layman's terms.

If he could spend time educating the QBs about understanding defenses...alignments, sets, shifts and adjustments I believe it would pay huge dividends in QB and over all offensive player development.

I would be completely satisitfied if Butch hired him as a QB coach or at least consultant and offensive assistant as a consultant.

The guy just knows football thoroughly

Seems like a win to me. I've actually wondered why we haven't hired him already with him being involved in our program and right at home in knoxville.

He is a great guy....and does not want to coach. He has been my sons personal QB coach for the last couple of years during the off-season. He has a small group of kids he works with, and we've been lucky enough to be a part of it. I think that will likely be the extent of his coaching interest. He seems to be in a really good place and enjoying his family at this point.

I don't believe that. He's too plugged in. He can still do his media work

He said he dont want to be a coach because of all the long hours and being away from his family. He said he loves what he does now. being a coach and in the media would never work.

Being an offensive consultant and doing other things in life does work. Alabama has many paid consultants that do other things in life....

Id approve it maybe as a consultant at least works for Spurrier and the gators right?

Truth. I live in Fayetteville, AR (Razorback country), so all the stations are all about the Hogs. Glad Ainge has the podcast so I can keep it orange around here.

Pull a Saban hiring of Sark, and hire Art Briles in the same capacity as at Bama.

With our recent common history we could say we are helping him learn since we are now "leading" the country with Title IX issues, and he could help us as well.
