Will our version of the gun and run be the Eric Locke version which was disastrous, or the McFadden version. Personally I'm not a fan of Lucas Taylor; I'm not that optimistic of him being productive running out of the gun. We'll see, I hope he does well. Since Jones and Berry were HS QB's I think they would be better options, but I guess the coaches want them to learn their assignments before trying this job. But do they have to be a former QB? Cause I don't think Mcfadden is known for his signal calling.

McFadden played some QB in HS. Taylor was a QB in HS. I think we will be somewhere in between, at least this year. It won't be quite as successfuly as Arky's but not as bad as the Locke package.

All Eric Locke accomplished was getting us in trouble with the NCAA. I think we lost two scholly's out of that deal.

Agreed. Also, Taylor's got the only real game experience of those three backdoc mentioned. I know everyone is excited about the talent level of our freshman but let's not put too much pressure on them in their first college game on the road.

Taylor has played QB, is more athletic than people give him credit for and he will be easier to switch into that package on the fly since he will be in the game already. Taylor is the obvious choice at least for the first part of the season.

I was watching some of the southern miss game last nite and everytime locke came in at qb, it was 3rd and forever. he ran about 3 draws and attempted 1 pass. just brutal play selection. he had no chance everytime! classic randy sanders.
