Through 3 halves of this season, Eric Berry has seemingly disappeared.

I understand that teams will scheme to avoid him, but even still, #14 is involved in very few defensive plays.

In Chavis' scheme, Berry always seemed to around the ball, no matter where on the field and no matter the down and yardage.

And, as much as we heard about how Berry would be utilized to make even more plays in Monte's scheme, it seems that Berry is always running up just after the tackle has been made.

Thoughts as to why? Observations? Disagreements?

I really think that UCLA's offense is playing to avoid his playmaking. WKU's offense was too enept to even get Berry 'involved'.

I think he'll have a great season starting next week where a safety will do more. Defending against TEs in a pro-style offense isn't all that thrilling this week.

And I hate Jonathan Crompton.

that hit by berry on the qb was pitiful. He should have lit him up.
Exactly. Because Berry is playing tentatively.

"Should I blitz? Should I cover the HB going into the flat?"

Last year, he seemed to playing on instinct. Now, it seems he is trying to fit into a 'scheme' - more cerebral but less aggressive..

He may be the victim of too much hype. It's difficult for anyone to live up to all that playing his position.

Big hits and Interceptions are kinda hard when teams are throwing and running away from you.

yall are pathetic. go cheer for bama all you frontrunning rednecks. berry was around the ball all night tonight he probably led the team in tackles i have no clue what game you were watching.

and quit *****ing about monte's scheme. when you hold a team under 200 yards of total offense you should win. if anything i would be complaining about the offensive playcalling or lack there of.

thank you, no kidding. i'm more embarrassed of our sorry fans than our sorry team. so much for 100,000 intimidating anyone. UCLA could've put a high school freshman out there tonight and he would've been poised.

You've got to be joking with the OP. Berry was constantly making things happen. Just becauses you are not making the tackle or breaking up the pass doesn't mean that you are not affecting the play of the opposing offense.

Take Berry off the field today and their entire offensive gameplan looks not insignificantly different.
