Eric Berry the best ever?

It's really not that sad.

My point is, UT has a good defense. But I hear the name Eric Berry and no one else. And he deserves all of the accolades, but you have to have several other names around Berry to have a great defense. Just MHO.:hi:

does the name david pollack mean anything to you?

Yep. And Boss Bailey, Johnathan Sullivan, Tim Jennings, Tony Gilbert, Kentrell Curry, Darrius Swain, Thomas Davis, Quentin Moses, Bruce Thornton, Tim Wansley, Charles Grant, Sean Jones (I'm sure I missed a couple). All were Pollack's teammates on defense who won All-SEC honors. Pollack, Jones, Davis and Bailey were First Team All-Americans. So Pollack was not the only big name on the teams he played for. :hi:

The records he sets could stand for a long time. He just broke a record set in 1945!

He could tack on another 100 yards this year, and next year even more.

Pick the records he could get...

Interceptions
Career Interceptions - 29 - Al Brosky, Illinois (FBS) 1950-52
Season Interceptions - 14 - Al Worley, Washington (FBS) 1968
Game Interceptions - 5 - Lee Cook, Oklahoma St. (FBS) vs. Detroit, Nov. 28, 1942
5 - Byron Beaver, Houston (FBS) vs. Baylor, Sept. 22, 1962
5 - Dan Rebsch, Miami (Ohio) (FBS) vs. Western Mich., Nov. 4, 1972
Most Consecutive Games Intercepting a Pass - 15 - Al Brosky, Illinois, began Nov. 11, 1950 (vs. Iowa), ended Oct. 18, 1952 (vs. Minnesota)
Most Interceptions Returned for a Touchdown Career - 5 - Jackie Walker, Tennessee, 1969-71
Most Interceptions Returned for a Touchdown Season - 4 - Deltha O'Neal, California, 1999
Most Interceptions Returned for a Touchdown Game - 3 - Johnny Jackson, Houston vs. Texas, Nov. 7, 1987
Most Interception Return Yards Career - 501 - Terrell Buckley, Florida St. (FBS) 1989-91
Most Interception Return Yards Season - 302 - Charles Phillips, Southern California (FBS) 1974
Most Interception Return Yards Game - 182 - Ashley Lee, Virginia Tech vs. Vanderbilt, Nov. 12, 1983

Wait... where is Charles Woodson's name?

Yeah Jason Allen, how dare he put the team before himself and come back for his senior season and then suffer a season ending injury.

And Mayo should have gone. He was a top 10 pick. The coaches told him to go if he was going to be taken in the top 20. Plus after seeing Allen and Justin Harrell come back for their senior season and suffer season ending injuries I don't blame him.

I about cried with pride when Justin said he was going to play against Florida anyway, after his injury.

If we clone Berry now in about 18 years we can put together a string of National Championships. Berry drops back to pass, caught by Berry, Touchdown Tennessee. If your going to dream, dream big. :toast:

Berry's tackling is what makes me so excited.

Dixon is a 240 lb tailback and Berry punished him all game long.
