Ive been a fan of this team as far back as my memory goes, ive celebrated huge wins and had my heart broken over devestating losses.
I have always supported this team, not because it was a winning team or had the most media attention, but because Im a Tennessean. Because this is my team. This is my home and my pride.
I take pride when I watch my team clawing their way back after a complete meltdown the past few years. Being a fan isnt about the wins... though theyre great to enjoy, its about standing behind your team.
A fan doesnt trash their team every time they open their mouth. Yes, watching lose after lose hurts, and it hurts more that our rivals are getting win after win. But Id rather be a Vol with a losing record than a bamer, gator, cock or bulldog no matter what accolade, because thats who I am, and this is the team I have invested my pride and heart in to.
Those of you here being so negative about everything week after week is showing how little you have invested in our team. The only thing more painful than the loses, is having to share my team with you.
No I dont think we will go out and beat a team like bama from a logical stand point... but I believe my team can beat anyone on any given day because at some point we will. At some point we will be the team we once were. Youre blind if you cant see that happening. Did we lose to Kentucky? Yes. Did we go out and shove the ball down Georgias mouth? Yes.
The bad comes with the good. Deal with it like a man, like a Vol. Take the adversity and feed off of it. I promise you the adversity this team is feeding off of is from its own stupid fanbase.
We arent going to win every game, get over it. Next week is coming, another chance to take our pride back is coming with it. Get behind this team or go cheer for Notre Dame or Ohio St.
We arent a banwagon team. We're a team with a fighting tradition... win or loss. Knock us down and we'll get back up. If its a number by our name on the tv screen you want, then grow up. I want fans around me that will support our team in the rough, not chastise them for the growing pains
