You're not kidding on the sales and getting games. I don't have many Steam games, but there are about 10 Xbox Live Arcade games I own on my 360 alone that I got because they were $5 or less like Alan Wake: American Nightmare, Shadow Complex, Castle Crashers, Limbo, and others that I've barely played. A few I haven't touched in 3-4 years. I keep meaning to go back and play them but something new keeps coming out before I get a chance.
One of these days I'm going to have to make myself play games I have before I start buying new ones.
I just plug my 360 into my One and play my old games while still being able to chat with my friends on the One (at least the ones that aren't BC yet, which I believe Castle Crashers is). I've completed FF13, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Dark Souls doing this. Online shooters experience too much input lag, so I wouldn't suggest doing that. This also works with a PS4 (Bloodborne and Final Fantasy 7 work perfectly).
