Hearing a lot of negative talk from almost every Vol fan. First, everyone that had it with Fulmer's outlawism and downward slide, the rape of UT by the Kiffin regime, Dooley's failure and now the wild goose chase of Gruden. Tennessee is the clown of the SEC.

No wonder fans are fed up with the whole UT thing. Hearing a lot of talk that unless they make a hire that makes people want to rush to the ticket office they will not waste their money on mediocrity. I'm at that point, too.

People aren't going to keep paying the ridiculous prices that they want us to pay to continue watching mediocrity or worse.

Maybe we need to move to the Sunbelt where we can be competitive. That is the level of thinking of the UT leadership.

Im no bandwagon or fairweather fan. I have loved the Vols since the early 70's. I ve seen the highest highs and the lowest lows this program has ever had and I'll be in the stands whenever I can be there. If there's only 12 other people there that's cool... No lines at the concession stands or bathrooms.

Dooley was fired, that's all I asked. Hart is making a new hire. I will be at every home game in 2013 and at least 2 away games. :good!:

No matter who they hire, if they win, the seats will be filled. Not like they have been selling out all the games lately anyway.

By "almost every Vol fan" do you mean the hundreds of thousands you canvassed and spoke with or the 4 or 5 guys you hang out with?

If we hire Dumbo Fisher I hope they can't give tickets away. I don't wanna watch mediocre football. His sorry a$$ will win 8-9 but ALWAYS lose to bama, UGA, UF and LSU/SC.

Maybe we can trade places with MTSU...they are moving up while we are moving down. They just got invited to CUSA. Maybe we can win there with budget rental coaches, and rent half of Neyland stadium out to concerts on game day.

We'll be fine no matter who our next coach is. Dooley was a spur of the moment, keep the program together hire that should have never been made. Hamilton should have hired an interim, but he was too stupid for that.

This hire will be well thought out and whoever it is will be a win for UT.

I'm waiting for all the details to come out later. I'll make my decision then on whether to purchase tickets next year. If Hart and Cheek did indeed screw this up then I'm out.

I will watch on tv and I will cheer. I will not be purchasing anymore Vol gear until they fix it.

TBD for myself. I was prepared to donate money and buy season tickets with Gruden. The only name left that moves me to do the same is Jimbo Fisher. Big East coaches (i.e. Strong, Butch Jones) do not cut it for me. Brian Kelly and Bobby Petrinio have been the only Big East coaches poached and had successful tenures thereafter and its just too risky. Not to mention the fact that Butch Jones has followed Kelly at both of his coaching stops.

Bottom line...my enthusiasm and $$$ spent towards UT have nothing to do with coaches but more with image and procedure. I am tired of this university always looking like a cluster*****.

Well I live in Northern Indiana and since they fired Dooley and we had a great new AD i had planned on going to at least one game next year. BUT with the names I've been hearing I have no intentions on doing that now. No way I'm gonna spend that much time and money to come watch a coach thats just barely better than Dooley coach our team to mediocrity. I also have no intentions on supporting this AD with the only other way i could if they hire one of these clowns, by buying anything UT related. No need to buy stuff I don;t want to wear out in public. Tired of wearing the gear and having to try and defend this joke of a program when the AD is doing nothing to help change that.
I'm to the point that I'm about to give up on the Vols and quit watching college football altogether. Of the names were hearing Strong would be the only one to keep me watching. Won't be spending any money with him as coach but I would at least still watch.

Dude, give your personal vendetta a rest. Fisher would be a great hire.

Look I wanted Gruden to, but Jesus Christ people. There are other good coaches out there. Lets at least wait and see who we hire first. The sky has not fallen, nor do I believe it will. Just give it a chance first. Hell, after Dookey it can only go up.

Once a fan, always a fan. I love the team and will go to games but getting someone in here that can win and win big is the only thing that will recharge this fan base.

Winning press conferences isn't enough anymore.

In your opinion do you think UT will be an 11-1 10-2 type of team with Fisher or Strong or do you think they will be an 8-4 or 9-3 type of team?

I travel every day in East Tennessee towns and counties. Speak with hundreds of managers, foremans, floor leaders, factory workers and construction people of all walks of life. Every single one is so fed up with our situation they don't want anything to do with a "Well, we grabbed anyone that might take the job" mentality that we have had. Not a single soul has said they would stand behind the team no matter what....NO ONE. So, drink the fool aid, junior.
