Lawgator is right here, everyone has a phone camera and even High School coaches know to take their libations indoors in private settings. School's still in for CLK on this... I have never seen a photo of Gruden in Tampa with a drink in his hand. Like I said, even high School coaches know to take their libations inside in private. And also to put their drinks in a colored cup so no one sees what is in there.

Seriously? If you are 21, there is NOTHING wrong with going out and having dinner and a beer, or some drinks with friends. To suggest they should just do it at home and nowhere else is ridiculous.

I get your point however in this day and age you would have to practically stay home to avoid every situation where a picture can make you look bad. Everyone has a camera phone stuffed in their pocket. Basically Lane shouldn't be in any place that serves alcohol and should surround himself with men or old ladies is what you're saying. I wonder what rumors would come out of that. What more do people want?

So true, so true. Got to be careful with things like, say, kissing men on the sideline or circumcising little boys. People might get the wrong idea.

I wasn't accusing the man of anything. Just making a point about lack of discretion in how things might appear. As head coach at UT, and one with some current and prior controversy, I would think you'd be keepin a low profile, that's all.

Why in the world would Clemson be talking about this anyway? Don't they need to be preparing to choke away the ACC again for yet another year?

Somebody named John1998, who claims to be a former UT football staffer under Fulmer, started this same post on GVX about two weeks ago.

What I most miss about not having home games with Clemson is the tractorcade they'd bring to town.

You'd think. I'd think. Apparently we don't appreciate the public relations effort the athletic department has launched.

Makes Kiffin sound like JImmy Johnson at Miami in the 90's and Barry Switzer at Oklahoma in the 80's......when they were winning championships.

McCartney at Colorado. The Boulder police used the football program for mug shots to identify perps.

Doesn't Tim Tebow run a Christian orphanage for the Gator's coaches kids?

Low profiles are very good for recruiting.

You don't listen to the news very well. Gruden was lambasted by caddying for John Daly and getting shi$faced drunk with him during the round. It was a charity event.

Don't be silly, of course you were.

Just making a point about lack of discretion in how things might appear.

You haven't shown any evidence for why he needed to be "discrete".

An adult, married man goes out with his wife and friends and has a few drinks or three in a public bar. Well good gawd! Whats the world comin' too! The Horror... THE HORROR!

As head coach at UT, and one with some current and prior controversy,

Both real and manufactured...

Besides, lets be honest here, if Kiffen stayed home and out of sight all the time, the SEC's Dis-Kiffen Club would turn *that* into a story/controversy.

I would think you'd be keepin a low profile, that's all.

You wish! You hope! But nope, no "low profile" for Kiffen&Co, and I *like* it that way.
