So elons starting a new party to fight trump. I'm guessing that even though it's probably no threat, trump still won't allow it. How long til Elon gets his govt subsidies canceled and run out of the country by a paranoid president? Will anyone the right acknowledge that losing one of the better minds of the last half century might indicate a problem with their leadership?

Better mind? I thought the left hated that volatile, drug-addicted dead-beat dad?

just as many people on the right will acknowledge that losing Elon is a problem as did on the left.

also debatable about how much of a problem it is. Its a free country, with infinite number of opinions, and unfortunately we allow political parties.

at best this resets some of the issues we see in the two party system for about 20-40 years. at worst it just entrenches the party system even more, and even less gets done.

He has his problems, but he'd be taking our best expertise in space, ai, bio computer interface, evs, robots, etc with him. I'm sure russia could use a few "legions" of his robot soldiers right about now, as well as a leg up in all of the fields he has his hands in.

His mind may have something to do with whatever secret society is backing him to help stay on top of all of these diverse technologies. The tesla logo is a stylized hammer of thor white power sign after all.

Elon is no Ross Perot.
Hes building a robot army that can be controlled by his mind with a world wide satellite network connected to his ai in addition to solar. He's way scarier than Perot, and I dont think anyone really knows the extent if his ambitions at this point.

Trump's ego will cause him to overreact as usual.

If anything this looks like, at least on the front end, fighting the insane spending regardless of R or D status.

“It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!” Musk said Monday. Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,” he said.

Musk had an inside look how .gov operates recently and not an elected official. He's a smart guy and doing something he thinks could be good for the country. I don't see how anyone could ridicule him at this point in his endeavors.

that's a bold assumption. for any uber rich or any politician, yet alone those who cross both thresholds.

he can say he thinks its good for the country, doesn't mean he actually thinks it is. also what is "good for the country" is definitely open for some debate. especially if this split was ostensibly over removal of the EV credits.

Welcome to the Achille’s Heel of AI. The algorithms are only as good as the model training. Garbage in results in garbage out.

What Musk may have as a result of his DOGE access is very specific demographic information allowing him to target districts and areas where likely disillusioned voters may be with more precision than we've seen with other 3rd parties.

As we've noted in national elections and even Senate elections, there are "swing" states/areas in states that control races while most others are rather solidly entrenched with their party.

Musk isn't flipping TN to D, but he doesn't want or need to do that. Can he flip the right voters in OH, PA, MI, GA, etc to change the Congress or disrupt a POTUS election? It could give his party a "Tiebreaker" role in the Senate and/or House and force a POTUS candidate to have to shift positions to win a key state.

What Musk got from DOGE in information and his use of that info is the "secret sauce" in his idea to exert power.

That's true. Perot believed he saw a path to fiscal responsibility through the Republican party. In fairly short order, Musk realizes that is an illusion and that neither party will do what it takes to restore the country to not just adding to debt, but actually paying down debt.

Maybe this look under the hood did genuinely spark something in him where he's doing this solely for the good of the country, but the problem with concluding that is you have to ignore everything else he's revealed about himself the last few years, which should make us all very skeptical...

And then you gotta wrap your mind around the fact that he doesn't understand basic civics, like the meaning of free speech and the point of checks and balances.
