Only thang I can think is NIL$$. She has had a good career here. Maybe it was the positional switching. Has been a good team player. Maybe Pickens gone and still no championship. Oh well this is the new way apparently even for her.

It was none of those reasons. It was hiring a coach with an abusive history and terrible reputation

Could we ever get to a place in society where a coach or player could actually sue an idiot fan for libel or something for posting total BS? I'm not saying this is that, but just a question. I mean, this guy's reputation and future is on the line, and some internet expert sleuth has uncovered something. Give us the receipts, Volfan1017.

Sigh~ It's a Sign of the Times. Believe half of what you see and none of what you read!

She didn't exactly have a spectacular season and her batting needed work. Plus there is a freshman class coming in with serious infield talent. Competition.
Who on the team had a spectacular season? Knight was the only player over .300. Dodge tied the team in doubles and BB @ .285. Tennessee cycles “serious” talent every year with very little impact by freshman. Competition wouldn't be why she left, she’d embrace it.

Hell! This has been the way of things since the 1940's that I started life in. My granddaddy would tell me this and he also had a saying that I have not forgotten, "fools names and fools faces always appear in public places" he started his run on this confused earth in the late 1880s. ;)

You mean the reputation that got him hired at Texas, who just hung their 2nd banner in two years?? Why didn’t the Texas players leave?

Apparently they would have had he was retained this year. That’s at least what Texas fans are saying.

I don’t know why Ella put her name in the portal, but I’m sorry to see it. She made some great plays, and got some big hits, I thought she was one of our best. Wishing her good things in her future.
I will stick with my hope for a healthy but uneventful finish elsewhere.

I take anything Texas fans say with a grain of salt. According to them, anyone who leaves there in any sport was either forced out or they didn’t want anymore. I’ve never seen a superiority complex like the one that Texas fans have rot to this league.

EE had his issues at Missouri at the end, but was very successful with a long line of players that loved him that. He also spent quite a bit of time away from the college game after that.

While it’s true, as I said before, that Ella had a great relationship with Craig and Stephanie, I don’t think it’s correct to say that she left solely because they weren’t retained. I think it is flat wrong to suggest that she left because of who the replacement was.

I think there are a variety of factors beyond coaching that have led to the strong likelihood that she will play closer to her family. Tennessee has been looking for a middle infielder in the portal anyway, so I don’t think her departure changes the portal recruiting plan all that much.

2nd base from lady gamecocks commits to UT out of portal. Dodge was wanting 2nd base? Did SC transfer see oppty when Dodge departed? Or was in works and Dodge saw and speeded up her exit? Only her hairdresser knows....Either way we fill a need . lefty batter .345 average 68 hits. Not exactly shabby...
