Has anybody played this? It sounds awesome, but it also sounds like it might require a decent investment in a high quality joystick. It could be a huge time vampire, I would think.

Basically it's intergalactic trading/smuggling/combat/exploration/whatever sim.

I didn't see a thread, so I started one. Chances are, I won't get this, but I wanted to hear experiences from anybody that may have played it.

My laptop doesn't have a video card, so I pretty much can't play PC games.

I have not played this but I've been keeping up with it since it's original kickstarter. There is no doubt it is going to be good. I wouldn't be too worried about a joystick. You can spend $40 and get everything you truly need to play. Or you can spend $300 and get everything you could ever want to play lol.

I am actually more of a fan of Star Citizen. It has exactly the same premise but has a more in depth flight model and most likely a much larger player base. It won't be released for some time after Elite but I believe it will be worth the wait.

If you liked any of the old Wing Commander games, you need to check out both of these games!! SC is made by the same guy, Chris Roberts, and E:D is made by fans of those old games.

Here's a video link if anyone is interested in Star Citizen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iT5BD7AtaoA

Looks pretty cool. I'm all for space combat games making a comeback!

This is another that looks really cool to me.

I would have to build a PC to play it, but it is releasing to the Xbox One soon. I don't think it will be cross platform, though, so I won't be able to play with my friends most likely.

Right now the game is released in beta form on Xbox One. You can try it for free or buy it for $30 and not have to pay the full $60 when the "full game" is released. So I pulled the trigger.

So far all I'm doing is bounty hunting. But it's a lot of fun to form a wing with friends and roll up into a system and take on much bigger ships than you as a team.

Just getting into this game. Got the base game and the horizon season pass for less than 20 bucks.

I am pretty much still just doing training stuff right now. But it has enough promise to keep me interested.

Going theu the learning curves is interesting. I struggle with something the first day. Then the next day I can typically come back and do twice as good.

Anybody else still playing?

I play off and on, its really a great game. I never got the fighter mechanics down, but made some really solid coin trading and cruising.

I am thinking to get a lot of playing time I am going to need to figure out the combat side of things.

Maybe it's because it's still new but the economy in game is actually interesting or engaging to me

Picked this up a couple of months ago. It's probably the best space flight sim out there right now. I've been alternating between it and No Man's Sky.

I have the game. A buddy of mine and I used to play it a lot. We put it down to focus on other games. Haven't played it much since last year. But, I do really enjoy it. Have an Anaconda and Corvette as my top ships. The next update with actual walking around will be fun.
