I am looking forward to the season but in a way I am also dreading it. You southerners are spoiled with nice weather. Hailing from Michigan the beginning of the regular season means the end of summer and the beginning of winter; which is painful.

yay! can't wait, Sept. will be here before we know it.

Who is the Gators first opponent?...or should I say victim? :p

Charleston Southern. Then Troy.

Then the University of Tennessee.

Eight of Florida's 12 regular season games will be played in the State of Florida. Talk about your homecourt advantage.

I am surprised FL would schedule such tough opponents that early in the season. It's usually a good idea to start off with weaker teams until you work out a few kinks. Gonna be a tough couple weeks there.:birgits_giggle:

I just heard them announce yesterday that the UCLA game (Sept 12) will start at 4:00. Can you imagine how HOT it's probably going to be at that time of day?

Good for that backup QB to get some reps.

"Charleston Southern"

Honestly, until this year, I didn't even know they had a football team. And I usually know college football teams. Florida should put 60 on the board. The next week vs Troy will be tougher. Florida will win but Troy will give it their all.

Teams like Troy and Southern Miss follow a pattern in these games. In the first quarter, they often keep it close and have some success, but tend to get worn down due to lack of depth by mid-second quarter.

Didn't Auburn get held out of the NC game in '04 after being undefeated because of a weak schedule? I believe it was the citadel specifically. How does Florida get away with it so often? I recall their schedules being pretty easy to start out with most every year while UT chooses to play real teams...

I think there were a couple of undefeated teams they could never overcome in the polls, right? We will not have that problem as we start at #1.
