Not hard to see, and it didn’t start in this series. Guys over swinging. No situational awareness. Coach has been the batting coach here for a long while. JMO, This is why you need to be in the dugout and not on third. Understandably, this isn’t the main issue. We aren’t putting pressure on pitchers with base runners. Fix it.

Him being in the dugout has absolutely nothing to do with them over-swinging

Him being in the dugout has quickly turned into the baseball version of "should Heupel call plays"

I don't know what people think he does in the dugout. Coach V rarely talked to a player in the dugout while we were hitting. He was into the game and relaying information to the coaches on the bases.
IMO you can get a better feel for an at bat from being on the field anyway. These are the same types of fans that think they know offense better than Heupel.

Hold on.

He's been the batting coach a long time...in which he was also at 3rd the whole time.

So why exactly does that mean he needs to be in the dugout?

Exactly! Wasn't in the dugout when we won a natty. Know wasn't HC but was still the hitting coach.

Edit: WallyBalls beat me to it.

I agree that the full swing and pray we hit the ball approach is not working. However, the bunt fake out was a really good play and it was a situational hit. We could use more of that to keep putting pressure on opposing defenses. Just get the damn thing in play.

Why does every disagreement on this formum Have to turn into a personal attack against the poster. It’s just nonsense. The main point of the post is E’s comments about the team. Where E positions himself is secondary to the whole matter.

It kinda looks like our keyboard coaches are proficient in baseball, basketball and football. How did we ever become so blessed to have these superstars in our midst o_O o_O o_O o_O o_O o_O

I said what I said specifically because you mentioned E’s positioning. It’s a ridiculous criticism. Ridiculous criticisms are far too prevalent on this site and it’s grating.

UT’s offensive rankings in SEC’s 16 teams. With almost 30% of regular season completed, this team ranks last or at the bottom of nearly every offensive metric in the SEC. They are 3rd in Doubles which is the one bright note.

Hits. 137. 16th (LAST)
Doubles. 38. 3rd

Utilize the block feature. I’m assuming it was put there for a reason. personal attacks are far more ridiculous. No fan needs your permission to make comments about sports related issues. Sometimes ridiculously bad play leads to over magnified criticisms of other areas. I’m willing to admit that. Look at those stats, and let me know your real concern.

Here are the stats. I didn’t do it. I’ll agree, that when things are that bad, we do tend to focus on periphery things. I willing to admit that. If I edit my OP and remove that comment, can you provide some insight as to what Josh said and this stats?

I was never arguing the stats. They are what they are, not good.

Elander being on 3rd or in the dugout wouldn't change the stats very much (if any)

Yeah our hitting sucks so far. I’m not sure why. Hitting a baseball is a high variance activity and is very hard to coach. Maybe this group of guys just isn’t good enough. Maybe they are and they will come good eventually. I don’t know. I just resent the whole positioning narrative as an explanation.

I know the stats are what they are. Would you agree that the schedule of competition is better than previous seasons?
