Eat right, Run..bike..work out..swim..yoga..and die anyway. What’s your health and workout plan

I was in Townsend this weekend for my sisters wedding. Saturday morning my watch would not connect to GPS so I ended up running for an 1:15 total. It was raining off and on and the route I took was by the creek for most of the way so I am not going to complain one bit. It was a peaceful and enjoyable run.

Sunday was 30 min run for distance ended up over 4 miles and then 30 mins AMRAP of barbell front squats, core, push ups, pull ups and DB low row.

5k on the tread this morning.
You run the bike path through town starting across from the KOA?

I started at our cabins that were just off Lamar Alexander parkway. Do you know where the Dancing Bear is? We were about two miles down on the opposite side of the road from there. I ran on the path that’s right there next to the parkway
yup. That’s the path.

5 miles this morning on the tread

0-1 8..2 mph
1-2 8.3 mph
2-3 8.4 mph
3-4 8.5 mph
4-4.25 8.6 mph
4.25-4.50 8.7 mph
4.50-4.75 8.8 mph
4.75-5.0 9.0 mph

This morning was a struggle. Just have to keep telling myself to stack days

Also, core, push up and pull ups

11 miles in 1:22 and some change. I did a terrible job of regulating my pace from mile 3 through mile 7 and it cost me. I had a goal of 12 miles or more today. Between terrible pace regulation and the three or so really big hills I was toast and decided to save the energy to I had left for my lift. 👎🏻👎🏻
I'm jealous. I wish I could run that much but I don't think my foot would let me.

Yeah, it used to be worse and I went to PT. I can run now but if I do it too much it flares up. I'm trying to ease my way back up with a c25k program just to get my foot used to it again. My cardio is still good enough that I could run a 10k but my foot isn't.
I had it for a while and it killed me not being able to run. The thing that worked best for me was one of those foot massagers. I would use it twice a day and after about a month of that and making sure my shoes weren’t broken down it finally subsided

I enjoy cycling. I just suck at it. I need to invest in a better bike and I might enjoy it a little more
If I may offer a little advice, decide what set up you prefer - drop down or “straight” handlebars. Go to one or more shops and get advice on what size frame you need, then look at used bikes in your size before buying a new one. Get a mechanical set up unless you’re going full ebike. Nobody wants to get stuck in one gear because the battery for your blue tooth shifters has run out of juice.

Edit: One more consideration, what size tires will the bike accept. My road bike won’t accept any larger then 28cc width. I’d like to ride my bike on a shale path, but I’m not comfortable doing that on 28cc tires.

I appreciate the advice. Definitely don’t want a e-bike. There are several shops around here. My GM and president of our company are both big bike guys. The president was sponsored by Natural Lite for a while. 😂

First, it was the weather. I don’t like riding in the rain. It’s not just getting wet. Vehicular traffic becomes even more dangerous. Then, the AC quit. It’s very likely the coil of my sixteen year old system. Gotta meet contractors and get bids. That ate up a week with good riding weather. This morning, barring other unforeseeable circumstances, I’m going to ride my bike.

Sunday 60 min Orange Theory class. My legs were toast from Saturday and most of the weight floor was leg lifts or leg centric and then went to the tread for two 11 min blocks. It was distance based so trying to get as far as you could in the first block and then trying to beat the second block. Plus over 2k meters rowing.

5k on the tread today.
