Chattanooga, Soddy-Daisy, Signal Mountain, Walden, Lakesite,

Im definitely keeping an eye on that Chattanooga storm. The mountains seem to funnel the storms northward.

SOUTHEASTERN HAMILTON COUNTY...

At 1118 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Fort Oglethorpe, or 7 miles northwest of Ringgold,
moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.

This dangerous storm will be near...
Chattanooga around 1130 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Collegedale, East Brainerd, East Ridge, Apison and Ooltewah.

This includes Interstate 75 in Tennessee between mile markers 1 and
13.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a

near Cohutta, or 7 miles northeast of Ringgold, moving east at 45
mph.

TORNADO EMERGENCY for OOLTEWAH AND COLLEGEDALE. This is a
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW!


HAZARD...Deadly tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes,

What’s the outlook on Knoxville for the rest of the night? Should I go to bed or stay awake until 2-3 to stay safe?

There is one last lone of storms back in middle TN. I’m not sure if it will still be severe when it gets here, but I’d at least make sure your alerts on your phone are kept on.

heavy rain across the warned area. Up to three inches of rain have
already fallen. Several reports of roadway flooding across Knox,
Blount, and Monroe Counties. Additional Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the

An update on the tornado in Polk County:

The NWS has retracted the tornado report from there. There was no tornado there.
